New office bearers for IPAMA

Indian Printing, Packaging and Allied Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (IPAMA) has elected its new office bearers and its Governing Council members for the term 2008-2010 at its recently held 70th Governing Council meeting in New Delhi. Sanjay Gupta of K K Printing Machines Mfg Co Pvt Ltd (Ballabgarh) was elected as president, K S Khurana of Five Star Printing Machinery Co (Amritsar) is the general secretary and Satish Bajwa of Pressline India Pvt Ltd (New Delhi) is the new treasurer. A D Chatterjee of DIC India Ltd, Kollkata; Jitendra S Doshi of S S Doshi Engineers Pvt Ltd, Mumbai; C N Ashok of Autoprint Machinery Mfrs (P) Ltd, Coimbatore and N S Manku of Joy D-Zign Engineers Pvt Ltd, New Delhi were elected as the vice presidents of East, West, South and North regions respectively.

The elected joint secretaries, C P Dahra of Dahra Engineering Co, Faridabad; J S Kalsi of Kalbro Manufacturing Co, Faridabad; T R Mahajan of Indo Poly Machines Corporation, Amritsar and C P Paul of Abhishek Print Line, Faridabad will take the responsibilities of east, west, south and north regions respectively. IPAMA, founded in 1991, is an apex body and is playing a pivotal role for the development of printing, packaging and allied machinery segment. According to a recent survey, the Indian printing industry has consistently outpaced GDP growth and is poised to achieve 60% growth by the year 2010 and can generate phenomenal increase in employment opportunities. To meet this ever growing and continuous demand for high-speed and hightech printing, packaging and converting machines – the Indian graphic arts machine manufacturers, of course, being aware of the challenge before them need to commit themselves to fulfill the need of the nation to give technologically update machines and related equipments matching to international standards and quality. The printing and packaging industry in India and its quality output in the form of magazines, newspapers, books, catalogues, packaging products has come up to international standards.

Keeping in view globalization and the massive electronic and information technology’s direct impact on graphic arts industry, IPAMA is now gearing up to have an exposition of latest innovations in the entire gamut of printing, signage, packaging and converting in all segments of pre-press, press, post-press and finishing, by holding ‘PRINTPACK INDIA 2009’ with India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) from January 18-23, 2009 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.
