Recently, Adidas China, the official sportswear partner of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, kicked off its Olympic Games campaign with a spectacular light show in front of thousands of people at Beijing’s Yongdingmen Gate, the historic former front entrance of Beijing’s old city walls. “Together in 2008, Impossible is Nothing” is the largest Adidas brand campaign ever created by a single market. The campaign is about rallying the nation and showing how the entire Chinese nation is supporting their athletes and the Games themselves. A blend of action photography and computer graphics, “Together in 2008, Impossible is Nothing” is an integrated marketing campaign. Through a combination of TV, print, outdoor, PR, digital, point-of-sale and road shows across the country, the campaign provides various platforms enabling consumers to get closer to the athletes and the Olympic Games.

“This campaign is inspirational. Having the Chinese people behind them inspires our athletes and in turn the athletes are great examples to inspire the Chinese people to overcome their own Olympic-like challenges,” said Wang Jun, vice minister of the state general administration of sports and vice president of the Chinese Olympic committee.

Large-size light boxes for BMW Mini

W&Co Design Solutions, a well-known manufacturer of display light boxes, illuminated signs, poster frames and other advertising products, have recently coordinated a new light box campaign for BMW Mini. A striking flex face light box with PVC banner graphic, specifically designed for the new Mini Clubman as part of BMW’s advertising strategy, was presented in the Derby BMW Mini showroom.

The flex face technology (that allows the creation of large-sized light boxes without visible connections on the front face) appeared to be the best solution to meet the customer’s request. Upon completion and approval of the design, it took W&Co just two weeks to complete the project, which resulted in a light box over 6 meters long and 2 meters high. The outcome was beyond the client’s expectations.
