3M strengthens partnership with channel partners
The 5th annual 3M commercial graphics
channel partner meet was held recently at
The Leela Kempenski, Kovalam, Kerala recently.

Over 75 authorized
channel partners
participated in the twoday
event that was a healthy
mix of business, sports and
entertainment. The event was
kicked-off with a beach volleyball
league of six matches that saw the
graphic manufacturers of each
zone teamed up to battle the
other zones and the 3M
Bangalore team. The final was
played the next day between
South zone and the 3M team.
After a tough battle, 3M came
on top despite spectacular
performance by the South.The
final scores read 15-8, 14-16, 15-4.
The entertainment event saw
stage performances from each
zone. This was an opportunity for
graphic manufacturers to show
off their acting skills. The team
from West zone put up a
spectacular act depicting national
integration. The South zone
provided a stunning performance,
full-monty style. The North zone
spoofed a dance reality show.
There was loud laughter
all around.
The business sections featured
performance reviews, discussions
on opportunities and challenges
for the signage and graphics
industry. Energy saving in the
backlit sign boards was a key topic
and a few action steps were
drawn out. The channel partners
were also introduced to the new
range of digital printing media,
specialty sign solutions and Di-Noc
decorative films that will be
introduced soon.
The highlight of the event was the
2008 channel partner awards.
The graphic manufacturers who
walked away with the trophies
in different categories included
(Apollo Award - for Signage)
YFA Advertising, New Delhi;
Amreesh Neon, Mumbai;
Graffiti, Kolkata; and Diamond
Signage, Bangalore; (Apollo
Award - for Printed Graphics)
Positive Images, New Delhi;
Jasras, Mumbai; and
Autographics Digital, Bangalore.
The Vulcan Award for highest
contribution (All India) was won
by Adworld Graphics, New Delhi
and Most Promising Sign converter
in a non-metro was won by Opal
Signs, Tiruchirapalli.
The Sanjay Sharma Memorial
Trophy for the most-outstanding
sign installation was awarded
to Diamond Signage for a
Mega Mart Store Signage (Client:
Arvind Ltd.). This large sign at
Chennai was manufactured
using 3M Panagraphics II and
Scotchcal 3630.
Autographics Digital’s branding of
the Chinnasamy Stadium at
Bangalore during the IPL (Client:
DNA Events/Royal Challenge)
was awarded the mostoutstanding
graphic installation.
The project used 3M ij8624
textured surface film, 3M ij3552
changeable graphic film and 3M
floor graphics solutions. Mahendra
Associates and Mira Combines
walked away with the honours
for distributors.
As per Santhosh PG, of the 3M
team, “Overall it was a great
celebration and strengthening of
partnership further. These two
days are dedicated to reflecting
over our successes and failures
over the last 12 months and make
plans for the future. We are like
one big family and this event is
an opportunity to strengthen
our bond.”
