Indoor sharp. Transit tough. Curve ready.UPM Metamark’s MDVP and MD-40 Polymeric films meet even digital printers’ toughest jobs — from premium indoor graphics to transit and simple-curve vehicle work — holding their finish for 3 to 5 years outdoors.

UPM Metamark is launching two new film ranges — MDVP Monomeric and the MD-40 Polymeric Series — built on the same promise that’s kept customers coming back for years: film that performs consistently, job after job, so there’s one less thing to worry about on press.

One week it’s a boardroom feature wall that has to look flawless under gallery lighting; the next it’s a fleet livery that has to wrap a wheel arch and still read clean three summers later. Both new ranges run through the same digital press — solvent, eco-solvent, latex or UV-curable — and come out ready for either one.

UPM Metamark is one of three graphics brands inside UPM Kymmene India’s Adhesive Materials division, alongside UPM Intercoat and UPM Grafityp — part of a company customers have learned to rely on for film that performs and gives peace of mind on every job. MDVP and the MD-40 series are calendared and coated to the same quality line, so choosing MDVP for one job and MD-45 for the next doesn’t mean switching suppliers.

MDVP Monomeric Films (NEW)

MDVP is UPM Metamark’s newly launched monomeric line, built for POS graphics, exhibition work, window displays and transit advertising that need to look sharp for upto three years outdoors (Zone 1, vertical, unprinted). The 90 micron film runs in gloss or matt and comes with clear or grey adhesive in permanent, removable or air-release options, with clean removal for up to 12 months (on the removable options). Its partner laminate, MGVP, is available in matching gloss or matt for extra protection and finish.

MD-45 Polymeric Films (NEW)

Indoor sharp. Transit tough. Curve ready.MD-45, from the newly launched MD-40 Polymeric Series, is built for outdoor signage, transit graphics and vehicle work — including flat panels and simple curves — that need to survive up to five years outdoors, unprinted. The 80 micron film runs in gloss (MD-45) or matt (MD-41), with clear or grey adhesive in permanent, removable or air-release options. Its partner laminates, MG-45 (gloss) and MG-42 (matt), complete a durable, professional finish.

Why one outlasts the other

The difference in durability comes down to the length of the polymer chain inside the film, not a marketing tier.

Monomeric (MDVP)

Shorter, more loosely linked chains — holds up for 1 to 3 years outdoors, unprinted.

Polymeric (MD-45)

Longer, more thoroughly cross-linked chains resist UV, heat and washing — up to 5 years outdoors, unprinted.

Built for how digital printers actually work

Both ranges run on the same ink list, so the film is never the reason a job gets rescheduled:

Both MDVP and MD-45 are coated onto a 140gsm high density double PE-coated liner. That’s what gives both films their excellent layflatness — film that comes off the roll flat and stays flat on the table, without the curling or waviness that can slow other films down before the print job even starts.

Both ranges also offer air-release adhesive variants, which vent trapped air out through the adhesive as the film goes down. For installers, that means a faster, more confident application with far less repositioning.

Both ranges are REACH compliant — a chemical safety standard that isn’t yet a given across every film in this category, so it’s one less thing to check before a job ships into a regulated market.
