METAMARK: New Ownership, New Products, New Opportunities
UPM invests in Metamark and Metamark investing in India
UK-headquartered self-adhesive materials manufacturer, Metamark, has been acquired by the long-established and respected specialist in labeling and related materials, UPM. UPM, itself headquartered in Finland, has existing connections with and physical presences in India. The company now seeks to expand its horizons into new markets in signs and graphics, and is building its presence in India with Metamark in pursuit of that goal.
Metamark has much to offer brands, potential distribution partners, and signs and graphics producers in India. The company and its products are known and used around the world, in particular its signage and digital materials portfolios.
Metamark can supply sign makers of all shapes and sizes with the materials they need to get practically any job done. The company offers a very attractive range of coloured Sign Vinyl, including a range of translucent materials. It also offers digitally printable materials, notably its range of ‘MD-Class’ products, which enjoy a reputation for print quality, performance, and value wherever they are used. Metamark also has what’s regarded as one of the industry’s best warranty programmes, which it calls ‘MetaSure.’
Metamark’s name is not unknown in India, but the company’s future springs from its newly assumed position as a subsidiary business of a major international company with experience and links to India and her markets.
With the resources now available to Metamark as a member of the UPM family, the company is in a position to make its products and support available to markets and customers in India. To achieve that, Metamark is seeking and actively recruiting suitably qualified partners to stock and make its products available. Metamark has a team in position in India to meet with and speak to potential partners, specifiers, and brands interested in partnerships or supply.
Pravin Krishnan, Regional Sales VP, APAC & Middle East, said, “We want to set a Metamark on a firm foundation in India and get the basics right for customers and partners here. Accordingly, we will attune our product portfolio to reflect local needs, we will ensure that both support and the capacity to supply are here, and we will listen to the markets’ needs so that we react appropriately to all of our customers.”
From those all-important customers’ points of view, Metamark would seem to have a great deal to offer. Metamark does have considerable experience in its dealings around the world with the needs of brands who want to rally to a reliable material to specify for signage and advertising projects.
Metamark can reference the engagement it has achieved with respected distribution businesses who make its products available in the growing and discerning markets in both hemispheres. Many of these markets have needs that compare closely to those distributors, and the materials they sell, need to satisfy in India.
Signs and graphics producers too are enthusiastic and keen to share experiences via Metamark’s website about projects that they have delivered using Metamark materials. Applications discussed there cover everything from shop signage to vehicle graphics, wall and floor décor and much more besides.
The Metamark team in India has made itself available to answer any questions and approached whether from specifiers, potential distribution partners or sign makers wanting to know more about Metamark’s products, the company’s international plans for its development, or just to respond to feedback about any needs in particular.
