EPSON India entails an ecosystem of signage printing systems

When it comes to EPSON India’s digital large-format printing machines, the company purposefully segregates them into four segments—Signage, CAD, Photo, and Mini Lab. In an exclusive conversation with Sign & Graphics, Amit Sehgal, Deputy General Manager, LFP–Sales & Marketing, EPSON India Pvt Ltd, narrates how the ecosystem of signage or digital large-format printing machines fulfills every bit of requirement in the market.

Signage, CAD, Photo, and Mini Lab are the four verticals under which EPSON India provides every machine and technological solutions to the sheer requirements of every sign maker, AEC (architecture, engineering, and construction) professionals, photo labs, and commercial printers. Even the Textile & DTF is yet another additional category.

“Well, when we further talk about the Signage, this segment is further subdivided into three ranges—Eco-Solvent Range, Resin Range, and UV Range,” tells Amit Sehgal. He adds that the Eco-Solvent range traditionally has five printers, starting from 4-colour to 10-colour models, which the company has recently expanded with the addition of a new flagship 11-colour SureColor S9130, a 64” eco-solvent printer. The 11 colours in the printer include the Red, Orange, and all-new Green.

According to Amit, the newly added Green in SureColor S9130 is suitably for those MNCs and eco-conscious brands from the sectors like FMCG. “All the colours are turned out to be 99 percent matched with Pantone Shades,” he adds. Since traditional EPSON models feature cartridges, theses new models are with bulk inks that are plastic-free and helpful in lowering carbon footprints.

Resin Range is basically of water-based inks. These aqua inks are perfect for the sensitive environments like schools, colleges, universities, and hospitals, wherein commuters cannot afford health hazardous smells or odours which non-green inks usually emit.

Next is the UV Range. “We have already come up with 4x8ft printer with which one can print on any substrate using UV inks. Moving forward, A3 and A4 UV printers are also in the category, which are more for on-demand printing, to print on mobile cases, laptops, or leather, wood, metal, and many other rigid and soft substrates,” informs Amit.

Apart from the UV and other machines in the company’s ecosystem of signage printing systems, EPSON India has another line of 10-colour and 12-colour printers, which are dedicatedly focused towards the photo segment. For instance, fine art reproduction and photography are what can be pulled off seamlessly with these photo printers. Luxurious brands like Gucci and others use these printers for in-store graphics.

Further, EPSON CAD machines are for CAD-CAM drawings, architectural drawings and such 24”/36”/44” machines print documents or applications. “Also printers from our Mini Lab range are designed very specifically for smaller format graphics, when print load is not that much high, such as A4 or passport size photos, in which our 6-colour Mini Lab printer is a popular one. Yet another gradually expanding range is of DTF printers.”

EPSON India has a nationwide network of 70 channel partners taking care of distributing the entire range of the printers, primarily focusing on the jobber market where PSPs work largely for MNCs.
