Metamark marks debut of architectural range in India
Metamark—The Materials Company, whose products gain wider specifications by signage professionals across the world, has expanded its offering with new architectural films for the Indian market. In a freewheel talk with Sign & Graphics, Tom Reece, Commercial Lead–Architectural, Metamark, Lancaster, gives an insight into the new development.
Purpose of Metamark architectural films is different from the usual applications. “With 10 years of warranty, our architectural range comprising the MiA films is specifically for surface covering interior applications, transforming and revitalising surfaces of all kinds in unique finishes and textures without the need of extensive renovations,” tells Tom Recee, adding, “Unlike the other materials which are temporary, these films are durable and scratch-free.”
Metamark architectural films of around 270 micron thickness are made from a durable base layer with a clear protective top layer. The products are designed for quality finishes and easy installation to deliver breathtaking transformations of doors, walls, floors, furniture, and many other interior surfaces within the commercial and domestic buildings. MiA range of films, which are now available in India, offers Natural Wood Finishes, Metal Effects, and other textures. On other side, T-Series Films are premium and perfect for backlit display applications such as light boxes.
“Designed for use on a wide range of substrates, allowing the surface finish to be recovered, MiA interior architectural films are ideal for typical applications office doors, hotel walls, health club locker doors, etc,” mentions Tom, adding, “Extensive finishes and textures of the films that look like wood, stone, metal, and others are not just the appearances but also the feels as the surfaces are coarse when touched. Tom further mentions that the films are also increasingly used in households for wall coverings and others.
Designed to be durable and resistant to wear and tear, ensuring they can withstand everyday use, Metamark architectural films feature air release adhesive for ease of applications, which eventually make them relatively simple. Tom mentions that the films are perfect for stretching to apply around any 3D shape or surface, “Most important thing about the films is that they are approved by users in many other sectors including the hospitality, retail, schools, colleges, leisure, and so on.
Referring one of the landmark installation projects, Tom cited the use of MiA films from the architectural range at a project of Emirate Golf Club. The club has four changing rooms, two for men and two for women, with 700 lockers. In 10 days, all the changing rooms’ lockers were transformed without disturbing anybody, lifting the whole space into a modern, light, and luxurious environment. This is the eminence of the Metamark architectural films.
When it comes to compatibility with printing technologies, Metamark architectural films are printable on Latex, UV, Eco-Solvent, and Solvent machines, delivering stunning results. Top conclusively says for the Indian customers, “Use the films, just give it a go, and feel the difference.”
