Selection of raw materials
Caldron Chenbang Inks keeps the same standards of raw materials and machinery set by its technology partner Chenbang Ink Company. “When it comes to raw materials, we use BGA (butyl glycol acetate) from BASF, Germany; pigments from another German company, Clariant (now a part of Heubach Group) for Magenta & Yellow; we use Sun Chemical’s pigments from USA for Cyan; and pigments from South Korean company Orient for Black,” mentions Rajat.
Production volumes
“Following the strict guidelines laid by our technology partner Chenbang Ink Company, we currently produce around 8,000 litres of inks per day. In a month, it’s more than 200,000 litres we normally deliver,” tells Rajat, adding, “Chenbang Ink Company is known for being one of the world’s largest producers of solvent and eco-solvent inks. We follow their policy guidance. We test every drop of our ink before it goes into bottling. We do first viscosity test in every 30 minutes and then after the lot is ready. We do filtration and drop test before we filter the ink in 4 steps. So, in short, our inks are good for printer even before final filtrations is done in our tests and there is negligible chances of it causing blockages after the final 4-step filtration”
Every raw material used at Caldron Chenbang Inks is vigilantly tested in-house before going into the manufacturing process. In the next step, an in-house printing lab tests the inks on standard printers before packing them for shipment. “We test every ink on the most standard printheads. Eco-solvent inks are tested on EPSON printhead and solvent on Seiko printhead,” mentions Rajat.
Printhead compatibility
Currently, Caldron Chenbang Inks are available in two bottles – 1 litre & 5 litre. Both the solvent and eco-solvent inks are compatible with all major printheads, viz. Konica Minolta, Seiko, EPSON, Starfire, XAAR, and so on.
“In addition to our solvent and eco-solvent inks, we are representing our technology partner to deliver their DTG, DTF, and UV inks in India,” informs Rajat.
