A homage to brutalist architecture style of Le Corbusier

VersionAbsolute Design Studio’s designs at Hyatt Regency in Chandigarh pay homage to the brutalist architecture style of Le Corbusier that defines the city. The form is inspired by the ‘Palace of Assembly’ whose fenestration has abstracted for its inherent graphic quality.

Exposed concrete, Le Corbusier’s material of choice, has been represented by the grey Corian that VersionAbsolute Design Studio has used in the signs. The wood is a mixture of pine and mulberry timber which is reclaimed from packaging and furniture. Mulberry is a local species of wood found in this region of India.

Interior signs are in solid beechwood, Corian and stainless steel. All text screens are printed onto wood surface.

Exterior signs are powder-coated aluminium cabinet displays with stone veneer base. All texts and icons are punched through aluminium sheet and internally illuminated with LED exterior grade lamps.
