SAi releases EnRoute 23 with new features for more applications

As first major upgrade since EnRoute 7 including user requested tools, SA International (SAi) introduces new EnRoute 23 to expand the capabilities of users and take the software to new application sectors. SAi software solutions are designed for professional sign-making, wide-format digital printing and CAD/CAM machining industries.

With more than 20 new features, SAi’s new EnRoute 23CAD/CAM design software is the first iteration of a new product strategy – annual updates to deliver more features and refinements to users on a basis. These users typically span those in CNC woodworking, sign-making and fabrication companies, as well as nested-based manufacturing users.

“The launch of EnRoute 23 is yet another major step in the evolution of this software and many of the new features have been developed based on requests from users who are being asked to provide more complex work by their customers,” informs Eyal Friedman, VP Product Management at SAi. He adds, “Faced with time & price pressures, users will find these most recent changes especially attractive. At the same time, these new capabilities will enable more types of job to be done and take EnRoute into new applications and industries with similar operational needs.” Among the most notable new features of EnRoute 23 are cited below:

Setup Manager: This application enables users to configure the menus and tool bars of EnRoute 23 to display the tools necessary for specific jobs, giving a clean, custom dashboard for ease of use. These custom configurations can be saved for repeat jobs.

New Profile Tools – this feature supports for ogee and beading tools have been developed for expanded capabilities. SAi has also added sample tools to the tool library to enable users to quickly begin using them. In addition, DXF and PDF files can now be used to define tools by users.

Simulation of Profile Tools – This new feature enables users to ensure that results are what they expect before cutting by displaying a graphic representation of the tool-path. This tool will save time and expensive material waste.

Corner Fine – One of the drawbacks of CNC routing occurs when cutting inside corners when the internal corner radius is that of the radius of the profile tool. The Corner Fine capability is built into Hatch, Island, and Spiral fills and enables the selection of smaller radius (ball-nose) end mill tools to achieve sharp internal corners.

Peeled Pole Texture – Woodworkers producing rustic furniture and home décor will welcome this new parametric texture that delivers the ‘peeled pole’ effect. The tool gives users control of pole diameters, uniformity, faceting and surface finish.

The host of other new features and capabilities included in EnRoute 23 – No-lift Toolpathing, Color and Centerline Vectorisations, improved nesting capabilities with cut time estimates – are all part of this exciting new software. Other practical features include a Unit Converter for accurate unit conversions, including inches/second to mm/minute will benefit users around the world.

In addition, the new Component Maker tool and Box Maker Wizard enable users to handle these applications with greater ease and speed. EnRoute 23 is available for traditional purchase or via SAi’s flexible subscription program. For more information on EnRoute 23 and to subscribe, visit

SA International (SAi) appoints Philippe Meyer as EnRoute Product Manager. Based at SAi’s European headquarters near Brussels, Belgium, Philippe will take responsibility for SAi’s EnRoute CAD/CAM design software, widely acknowledged as the go-to CNC software solution for everyday cutting, nested-based production, and creative design applications across the sign making, woodworking and fabrication industries.

As part of his remit, Philippe will manage updates and developments to EnRoute, oversee the product’s positioning and identify wider business opportunities for the software. This will see him work closely with the product management and technical/sales teams, as well as SAi’s extensive global reseller channel to ensure EnRoute continues to meet the exacting needs of customers.

“EnRoute is truly feature-rich software that provides a unique combination of 2D and 3D design and toolpath capabilities for CNC routers, lasers, plasma, waterjet and knife cutters,” says Philippe. “Throughout my time with SAi in other roles, the company has continued to invest in EnRoute and I’m excited to be part of ongoing developments that will see the software deliver even greater benefits for users in the near future”, he adds.

Philippe joined SAi in 2015, originally in a technical support role for both EnRoute and Flexi,SAi’sall-in-one design, print and cut software for sign and print providers. He subsequently became technical sales manager for Oceania, before assuming his latest role – the technical aspect of which, he cites as being a primary attraction.

“Having started his career with us at SAi, Phillipe quickly demonstrated a level of all-round expertise, most notably a strong technical aptitude. He has, in a relatively short space of time, amassed a solid level of expertise of EnRoute and is committed to ensuring it maintains its worthy place as the foremost software package for CNC users across multiple application areas,” says Don Feagan, President and COO, SAi.
