Signage players unleash new marvel at PRINTPACK INDIA 2022

It was not easy to travel in 45oC heat, but the industry had shown the courage and trust on the Printing Packaging & Allied Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (IPAMA) that organised the 15th PRINTPACK INDIA from May 26-30, 2022 at India Expo Centre, Greater Noida, Delhi-NCR. Of the 487 exhibitors at the show were some showstoppers from the Signage & LED segment showing new marvel in signage solutions and large-format printing technologies.

Reportedly a crowd of 103,412 visitors from 52 countries rushed to the 15th PRINTPACK INDIA. It has also been reported that exhibitors sealed business deals worth around Rs 2,000 cr during the first four days of the expo. Overall profiles of the exhibitors included the leading companies from diverse segments including packaging & flexible packaging, corrugation, label printing, screen & textile printing, signage & LED and more. Some of the leading players from the signage and large-format printing segment showcased new marvel in signage printing.

Arrow Digital, a leading channel partner of EFI in India, demonstrated the EFI Pro 16h LED UV hybrid printer.
Sanjay Bindroo, VP-Sales, Arrow Digital Pvt Ltd, said the hybrid inkjet printer is strategically designed with complete stimulus features to assure the lowest total cost of ownership, superior image quality and access to the widest range of substrates and applications including flatbed printing on materials like corrugated boards. Also, showcased by the company at its stall was the ArrowJet Aqua 330r with water-based pigment inks, powered by Memjet.

Showing a whole gamut of machines for signage and other commercial applications, Mehta Cad Cam Systems demonstrated its flagship machines viz. Prime 3204K, Rasterjet 2513 and others including a range of laser and CNC machines. Shailesh Mehta, Managing Director, Mehta Cad Cam Systems Pvt Ltd, mentioned that visitors around the company’s stall were highly impressed with the machines and technologies they presented. Mehta Cad Cam boasts of manufacturing a range of machines indigenously at its state-of-the-art facility in Ahmedabad.

Another big showcase from Colorjet India demonstrated a line of Colorjet printers as well as Roland machines. Its parent company Aprom Infotex is a sole distributor of high-end Roland printers in India. “In two separate stalls, we demonstrated the versatility of our printers designed for signage printing as well as other applications like gift and packaging,” said Smarth Bansal, GM- Product/Brand, Colorjet India. The machines on display comprised a series of Colorjet printers and Roland VersaEXPRESS RF-640, VersaUV LEC2 2330, VersaUV LEF2 300, TrueVIS VG3 and others.

Monotech Systems showcased its Pixeljet flatbed system along with a line of Canon large-format printers including Canon imagePROGRAF TM 5300, imagePROGRAF GP 5200 and others. “We have two stalls presenting the entire range of our printers. In one stall, we present the whole range of our digital large-format printers with advanced features for all sorts of applications, either poster or packaging printing,” said Manoj Garg, Manoj Kumar Garg, Business Head, Monotech Systems Limited.
Targeting the corrugated industry, Zund India demonstrated one of its S-Series flatbed digital cutters. “The show pulls crowds, who are focused and eager to find the latest technologies to push the bar of innovations to another level in the post-pandemic time,” said Prasanna Venkatesh VA, Managing Director, Zund India Pvt Ltd. He further mentioned that the market is now quite open and industry people are ready to connect all over again for a new sunshine in business and expo like PRINTPACK INDIA 2022 provides the platform for networking and revival.

Kongsberg is another exhibitor from the signage segment which unleashed some precision-cutting solutions and systems. Physically the company demonstrated Kongsberg X-Edge, a system with running speeds of 30 m/min with acceleration of 0.3G. “This system can handle a full spectrum of display, signage and packaging materials from kiss cutting vinyl to heavy duty milling,” mentioned Mohammad Rafiq Shaikh, Sales Leader, APAC, Kongsberg. He added that the trade visitors at the expo are smart and ready to invest in new machines and technologies.

ESKO’s stall at the expo portrayed a integrated system of hardware and software solutions for the printing, packaging and label industries. The company presented itself under the theme ‘Digitise, Automate and Connect’. In this, Arnab Maiti, General Manager–South Asia, ESKO, mentioned that they are now concentrating on ‘automation’. AVT Inspection Systems Inc. (‘AVT’), a global provider of print inspection, process control and quality assurance solutions, is the key partner with ESKO for automation.

Canon India unpacked the world’s first aqueous pigment printer with fluorescent pink—imagePROGRAF GP-540. “This newly introduced Canon large-format printer is PANTONE-calibrated, licensed for PANTONE Pastels and NEON Guide Coat,” said Puneet Dutta, Senior Director – Sales and Marketing, Canon India.
During the PRINTPACK INDIA 2022, conferences, seminars, B2B meets and other related programmes were organised by different associations and institutions, revealing the latest trends and traditions of the printing industry.
