Recently concluded, 16th Shanghai
International Advertising, Print, Pack, Paper
Expo (APPPEXPO) attracted huge
participation from world over. Held from July
2-5, 2008 at Shanghai New International
Expo Centre, the fair was a big event
representing the four industries collectively
on one stage. The four-day event was jointly
organized by World Expo (Group) Shanghai;
Modern International Exhibition Co Ltd;
Printing & Printing Equipment Industries
Association of China (PEIAC); Shanghai
Printing Trade Association; Shanghai
Packaging Technology Association; Shanghai

More than 1000 top exhibitors, among
which over 800 of them from the
advertising industry occupied over 100,000
square meters of exhibition space at the
show. And over 400 exhibitors from the
print, pack, paper industries occupied more
than 40,000 square meters. Over 20,000
buyers, agents from more than 100 countries
and 100,000 buyers and professionals from
China alone gathered in Shanghai for the
international communication and
cooperation.

As the fair was one of the industry’s biggest
event held in China, the mammoth
exhibition area was clustered into different
halls. The halls W1 and W2 were
International halls; W3 and W4 were
Printing, Engraving & Printer Machinery
halls; W5 was Exhibition, Display &
Commerce Facility hall; E1 was Sign
Equipment and Products hall; E2 and E3
were LED Illuminating & City Lighting
Equipment hall; E4 was Printing and
Packaging Machinery & Materials hall; and
E5 was Printing & Packaging Machinery &
Materials hall, and Printing & Packaging
Products Trading Hall.
Sign India 2008 concludes with a grand success
The recently concluded Sign India 2008 – Indoor & Outdoor Advertising Exhibition, organized
by Business Live held from June 27-29, 2008 at Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai, turned out
to be a successful event. All the major brands participated in the exhibition and Sign India
2008 emerged as the winner in terms of business generated to the exhibitors.
The show has witnessed a very good turnout of visitors from all over the states of Tamil Nadu,
Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerela and also from rest of India, Sri Lanka and Dubai. All the
visitors were overwhelmed to see numerous players of sign industry under one roof.
Successful Image Today 2008
The 15th international exhibition for indoor and outdoor advertising -
Image Today 2008 concluded on a successful note. Organized by Buysell
Interactions, it was held from July 25-27, 2008 at Chennai Trade
Centre, Chennai.
All the exhibitors were over-whelmed with the potential visitors who
thronged the venue on all three days of the expo. Concurrent events
for photography, videography, mobiles, and laptops & office equipment
were also held at the same venue. All these events attracted over
40 thousand visitors from all over the India and overseas, including
Sri Lanka, South Africa, Dubai and Singapore.

At the show, all the exhibitors put their best foot forward - Pioneer
Polyleathers promoted their indigenously manufactured “PIONEER
FLEX”; Lipi Marketing launched Mimaki dedicated UV flatbed printer
and FLORA – UV roll-to-roll and flatbed Spectra Nova 256 solvent
printer; Digi Sign Trading introduced two new model XAAR printers
of Korean standard and offered a new scheme of selling 20 XAAR
model printer with attractive and unbelievable price range (a special
limited offer only for the expo which received a tremendous response);
and Cadd Centre displayed their wide format input/output solutions
and colour plotters.
The live demonstrations of digital printing equipment at the Graphic
Technologies Sign Park, Printek Innovation, Unisign Digiprint, Asha
Advertising stalls were crowd puller. Also, Crystal Digital solutions,
Mehta Cad Cam Systems, Futuretek Machines demonstrated their
engravers and routers on various medium.
The next edition of this Signage & Advertising expo will be held under
the banner “SIGN TODAY 2008” from September 5-7 at Codissia
Trade Fair Complex, Coimbatore to target the Kerala market.

viscom frankfurt 2008
– reviewing applied advertising technology
Examples of applied advertising technology will be on show at the
demonstration area at viscom frankfurt 2008. The show will be held
as this year’s International Trade Fair for Visual Communication from
October 30 to November 1 in hall 3.0 of the
Frankfurt Exhibition Centre. The organizers,
Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH, are
expecting 200 international exhibitors and
7,500 visitors from 30 countries.
In an area of 200 sq m, viscom is all set to
provide its visitors the visions of latest trends and techniques. The
array of topics that would be covered in the fair include ‘Processing
of aluminium composite panels’ by ALCAN Composites - Alcan
Singen GmbH; ‘Textile processing techniques’ by Karl Gröner GmbH
and the LOGO; GmbH on ‘Light box design’; and ‘Decorative and
figure design’ by Malerei & Werbung Alfred Werker. Whereas the
FOLIATEC Böhm GmbH & Co Vertriebs KG will give demonstrations
on ‘Installation of autoglass films.’ MADEIRA Garnfabrik Rudolf
Schmidt KG will demonstrate ‘Embroidery on textile advertising
media’, and the Deutsche adp will be showing 'Car wrapping'. Another
theme on display at the demonstration area will be the ‘Processing
of Acrylic glass’.
A guide to wide format printing - Graph Expo
Graph Expo 2008, the largest graphic communications exhibition
and conference will be held from October 26 - 29, in Chicago’s
McCormick Place. At this year’s show more
than 600 exhibitors, including the industry’s
top wide format manufacturers and
suppliers, will showcase a full range of
graphic communications equipment across
450,000 sq ft of exhibit space. With three months remaining before
the show, this year’s wide format offerings have already surpassed
last year’s space.
“Wide format imaging has emerged from being a specialty segment to
a fully integrated, vital and growing element of both Graph Expo and
the graphic communications industry,” said Ralph Nappi, president of
the Graphic Arts Show Company (GASC).

International Expo Consults has announced 11th annual
Sign and Graphic Imaging Middle East at Dubai Airport Expo from
February 15-17, 2009. The show will showcase latest products and

SGI is the biggest
show of Dubai in
terms of space
occupied, exhibitors
and leads that
generate business more than US $ 800 million. During the last edition,
the show witnessed 300 exhibitors representing 28 countries. Among
them some new participants from South Africa saw great endeavours
at the fair. Around 90 percent of the last year’s participants confirmed
their participation this year too.
With its US$ 100 billion retail market and its emerging retail trends,
Dubai is known for its perpetual growth rate. Local industry in the
city offers tremendous opportunity across all segments of signage,
