Recently, European deputies witnessed a
brilliant example of textile digital printing
possibilities during ‘Textiles: Material for the
Future’ exhibition. Evolon, the innovative, non-
PVC printing substrate manufactured by Francebased
Freudenberg Evolon, was recently
selected by the organisers of the exhibition, to
maximise the visual impact of the four-day
event at the European Parliament.

In tune with the spirit of the exhibition,
Evolon was used to demonstrate innovation
and environment-friendliness in the area of
digital printing onto textile substrates. With
a scene construction built by design company
Carlin, the exhibition ‘guided’ Parliament
members from a meeting room to the
institution’s hemicycle debating chamber. The
60m2 Evolon graphic comprised individual
panels measuring up to 2.5m high x 2m wide,
which were linked together to form various
angles in order to maximise visual appeal.
Optimized for digital printing, the flameretardant
certified Evolon was printed by
French wide-format textile digital printer,
Creajet.
With its non-fraying edges and ability to be
hung or attached with plain double-sided tape,
Evolon eliminates the need for stapling, which
made it very easy for the stand contractors to
work with. As a result, joins were neat,
wrinkle-free and clean.
