Agartala is a small capital city of North-East Indian state of Tripura, and yet it accumulates big prospects of growth in its signage market. Many signage companies and print service providers in the city live up to the dreams of expanding their businesses with newer adoptions of modern technologies, machines, solutions, materials, and more in near future. Traveling bandwagon of Sign & Graphics finds out ‘who is who’ in the city’s signscape who are currently dreaming big for future.

Imagine Graphics,
Leading from forefront

Going where the winds of change in the market blow, Imagine Graphics is always at the forefront of adopting the latest machines and technologies to meet the growing needs and demands of premium graphic prints and innovations of their customers. The company has so far marked many firsts in the city when it comes to investing in new machines and equipment. Perhaps, Imagine Graphics caters the largest volume of signage print outputs in the city on daily basis. However, its varieties of outputs encompass both prints & glow (LED) sign solutions of all types.

Founded in the year 2015 with the installation of Caldron CJ 3000 solvent printer, first in Agartala, alongside a Liyu printer with KM 512i printhead, followed by Liyu Platinum with KM 1024i printhead, and EPSON S40 eco-solvent, Imagine Graphics’ production facility is always expanding. “We have a comprehensive machine portfolio that consists of printers, finishing line & others such as YUEMING laser cutting machine, Fayon lamination machine, etc. The portfolio also consists of Xerox and Konica Minolta digital colour production presses,” says Suman Saha, Proprietor, Imagine Graphics. Having been the sole vendor for companies like Star Cement in Agartala, Imagine Graphics has so far roped in a good number of big corporate clients. In a big way, the company has been executing turnkey in-shop branding projects for major jewelry companies, such as Gopinath Jewellers, Senco Gold, PC Jeweller, to name a few, across the length & breadth of Tripura. In a concluding word, Suman says they are now looking forward to adopting UV flatbed & roll-to-roll machines to deliver more vivid and enhanced outputs.

Popular Printers
Providing all kinds of work

Flex printing, glow sign boards, screen printing, offset printing, digital printing, and many other related tasks are what all can be done under the roof of Popular Printers. Shyamal Saha, Proprietor, Popular Printers, explains, “Over the last three decades or so, we have been in the printing industry. We bring out everything of the graphic arts and print graphics extensively evolving all applications. When we talk about signage, our works in this vertical remain limited nowadays.”

He adds, “Large-format printing activities at our production setup is managed by barely a Galaxy printer. When we have to carry out some large-scale or big projects, we seek little help from our friends who are good and well equipped print service providers based in and around Agartala.” With a team of half a dozen experienced printing and sign-making professionals, Popular Printers popularly works for local walk-in customers, most of the time.

According to Shyamal, some national and regional political parties are closely tied up with Popular Printers for years. “Not only just election outdoor campaigns, we are provider of all kinds of prints for the parties. Our machine portfolio is a mixed bag containing anything, either for digital printing, plotting, screen printing, or digital large-format graphic printing. We are thinking of something more flexible and advanced technologies like UV or so to be added to our machine line in future,” mentions Shyamal.

The All New Graphic Point
Catering unconventional jobs

Two branches of The All New Graphic Point in Agartala are the source of complete signage solutions in the city. One on Ganguli Road and another on Dhaneshwar Road, the company’s two units house complete arrays of machines, which consist of printers, CNC routers, lager engraving machines, plotters, and others. “We are proud to be one of the fully-equipped sign making companies in North-East India,” says Subhashis Sharma, Proprietor of The All New Graphic Point.

He continues, “We have a Liyu with KM 1024i printhead for printing. Other than printing flex and vinyl materials, we are more into CNC routing for which we have installed some flagship machines bought from CMT (Chennai). In addition, we have a line of laser engraving machines too, again from CMT. Beyond the traditional flex or vinyl printing, our core activities are deeply involved in 2D and 3D CNC jali cutting, stone and wood engraving.”

According to Subhashis, another new aspect of The All New Graphic Point being into routing and engraving activities is that they provide their customers applications which have never ever made in Agartala before. “We also use wood to create a lot of innovative outputs. It would include 3D designed, craved, and decorated doors, windows, gift items, mementoes,” he explains. He conclusively mentions that the new things that can be expected from The All New Graphic Point will be more of 3D applications and innovations in future.

As time went by and trends keep changing, we modify accordingly the way we work. Today, we run no machines. We are totally devoting to graphic designing and colour corrections, urging our clients to find IDEA, DESIGN & PRINT.”

Asha Flex Industries
Mixing all works & options

Asha Flex Industries, also called Asha Colour Xerox, is a printing shop where a mix of everything is found under one roof. How it happens is what Rakesh Ghose, Proprietor of Asha Flex Industries, narrates here. “Around a couple of decades ago we started our business as a reprographic shop. We normally dealt in commercial printing, photo copying, document scanning and such tasks. When the digital large-format printing gained popularity in the industry in the late-1990s, we switched to it and kept expanding. Recently, we invested in a Liyu printer with KM 512i printhead,” he shares.

He adds, “When we come to realize the fact that printing business is all about delivering everything and anything what our customers want, this is the main reason why we run both Asha Flex Industries and Asha Colour Xerox side by side. We work for customers from different sectors and diverse walks of life. We outsource some tasks such as laser and CNC routing jobs.” Most of the customers of both the divisions of the company are walk-in hordes from all around Agartala and its neighboring areas.

Rakesh is joined by his partner Bikash Ghose in the business.
