A spotlight on Indore’s some good old signage players

Indore city in Madhya Pradesh is home to some good old signage companies whose legacies involve one or more generations. The companies are known for being one-stop solution providers in tune of the growing demands for modern and innovative signage applications. In conversation with Sign & Graphics, these players in Indore talk about their early days, technologies they have adopted, planning to adopt, and many others including future business expansion plans.

Perfect Scan – Perfection under one roof

A division of Perfect Group, Perfect Scan was established in the year 1988 as a trader of consumables. In the year 1995, this Indore-headquartered company unveiled a processing house with the installation of an image-setter and a scanner. It ventured into complete print solutions business in 1999 and expanded to two new regional production facilities in Ahmedabad and Vadodara, then a branch office in New Delhi. Recalling the old days, Nitin Gami, Founder & CEO of Perfect Scan, narrates, “Over the last 34 years we have grown from one level to another. Though we started merely with a screen printing machine, our facilities had the first flatbed machine and UV system in the city.

Perfect Scan’s Indore production facility is measured around 20,000 sq ft, equipped with a line of high-end machines comprising HP and Skyjet UV printers as well as finishing machines like Jingwei digital cutter. Nitin mentions that they also have a commercial division equipped with advanced digital production presses like RICOH Pro C5300S, Konica Minolta Bizhub PRESS C8000, bizhub PRO 1050, etc. “When it comes to signage we predominantly work in the retail sector for applications like POP/POS solutions as per the convenience of our customers who come either for Rs 25K or 25 Lakh projects,” tells Nitin.


A1 Signage – Old player’s new experiences

Strategically located on LIG Link Ring Road in Indore city, A1 Signage is a 36 years old signage firm whose main activities involve in printing and production of diverse range of signage solutions and applications, such as acrylic display boards, high-end backlit displays, LED glow signs, and many other unconventional display and promotional products like yellow caution stands.

“We use high-quality media and materials, advanced machines & cutting-edge technologies such as Mehta 4×8 laser engraving machine, GCC Jaguar VLX plotter, etc. In fact, we strictly follow the trends and tradition of sign making as per the growing demands for newer creative and innovations in the market,” says Piyush Agarwal, Director, A1 Signage Pvt Ltd.

He adds, “We are proud to say that we have the potential to handle turnkey signage projects within the promised time frames for our esteemed customers from different industrial sectors. We have a team of around dozen highly-trained sign-making professionals who are capable to handle fabrication and installation projects of all types.” A1 Signage works for both government and corporate projects. Its clientele includes MPCA Holkar Stadium, Appolo DB City (Gold Plaza), OnePlus TV, New Race Course Business Park, to name a few.


Shree Vidyasagar Graphic and Signage – Source of premium quality print

Yet another good old player in the league of top-notch signage players in Indore is Shree Vidyasagar Graphic and Signage. This leading print service provider (PSP) in the city always strives for unparalleled printing solutions. So, it keeps upgrading its production facility with the latest machines and technologies as HP Latex 1500 being the latest addition to the portfolio. Others in the portfolio include HP Latex 570, Mutoh ValueJet 1604, Mutoh ValueJet 1638, Amastone NEXT CNC router, Graphtec plotter, etc.

“Our newly installed HP Latex 1500 is an ideal machine for super-wide applications,” says Sachin Jain, Marketing Manager, Shree Vidyasagar Graphic and Signage. He adds that the Latex machine is capable to churn high-quality décor graphics at 480 sq ft/hr on wide varieties of media including SAV, PVC banner, textiles and more. HP Latex 1500 produces double-sided backlit applications and scratch-resistant graphics using HP 881 5-liter Latex ink.

Mahir Advertising – Laser engraving expert

Mahir Advertising is known for being a popular sign-making corner in the city where flawless laser-engraved signs of all types are produced in unconventional manners. Mohamed Zahir, Proprietor, Mahir Advertising, mentions that they have been focusing only on the laser-engraved signage and innovative display solutions, which standout unique and flawless amid the crowd.

Recalling the early days of Mahir Advertising, Mohamed states that they started business in 2014 merely with a couple of production staffers. “After our rigorous effort and dedication, we have grown to a team of 12 strong professionals as on today,” he adds. The team is working dedicatedly for some corporate clients like Tanisq, Puma, Sony, as well as local brands like Pakiza Retail, Agarwal Group, etc.

The production facility of Mahir Advertising is equipped with a line of Mehta laser engraving and etching machines. Mohamed is planning rigorously to expand the machine portfolio of company with the addition of a couple of 8×4 CNC routing machines. “We are adding new machines to expand our footprints beyond Indore with new set of customers looking for CNC-routed applications.”


Kriya Marketing – Always ahead of others

A brainchild of three childhood friends — Sunil Kumar, Shashwat Vyas & Girish Kataria — Kria Marketing was incepted in the year 2014 as an exclusive signage firm equipped with the best-in-class printing machines and technologies. Sunil Kumar, Founder-Director, Kria Marketing Media Solutions Pvt Ltd, says, “We started working with some of our long-term customers like Nokia and Real Me. Like this we have built our stronghold in the mobile sector with gradual entries of key customers like Samsung over the years.”

As the name signifies, ‘Kria’ in Sanskrit stands for ‘purified action’, most of the company’s works and projects they have accomplished so far stay ahead of others in the industry. The company boasts of a robust team of 22 highly-experienced sign making and graphic designing professionals. In addition, Kria’s production facility is one of the best-equipped among all PSPs in the city.

FUJIFILM Acuity Prime flatbed, FUJIFILM Acuity LED 3200R UV roll-to-roll, HP Latex 360, Mehta CNC router (8×4) and a string of finishing equipments are in the current machine portfolio of Kria. The company works for a bunch of clients such as LG, Bacardi, Oppo, etc. from different sectors across Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Sunil mentions that they now gearing up to foray into the retail domain.


Shibaam Signage – A blend of art & technologies

Shibaam Signage is where display arts are made using best of cut-signage machines and technologies. Talking about the genesis of the company, Moiz Shethji, Director of Shibaam Signage, recalls, “My father started this company around three decades ago as a sign-making shop where everything were made or prepared manually. In fact, he was an artist in a real sense, who painted posters and promotional shop front displays, wall graphics, etc.”

“Continuing the legacy which my father started, we keep maintaining Shibaam Signage over the years. Now, in accordance to the trends the firm has changed its work profile. We are more or less into the cut-sign making, specifically for applications like metal wall murals, architectural decors, etc,” mentions Moiz, adding, “For that we are fully equipped with a line of fibre laser metal cutting machines including a Mehta Gloria 510 and others.”

The staff strength of Shibaam Signage has been expanded from 4-5 sign-makers a few years back to 25 as on today. “Right from desk name plates up to directional signs in the public establishments and residential colonies we have involved into turnkey projects of environment sign solutions for Manawar town, Damaji Nagar, etc,” asserts Moiz. Shibaam Signage stays ahead of its competitors when it comes to its works involving Golden SS channel letter and jail panels which have sense of importance and recognition.
