Everybody embraces GST positively

It has been two months since the implementation of Goods and Service Tax (GST) in the country, which in the first place created a bit of panic and uncertainty among many about what the new tax regime would bring up and how it would change their business. But things get steadily settled in a positive way as SIGN & GRAPHICS finds out many in the industry are happy with the new tax system.

There is nothing negative about GST. This is an internationally accepted tax system. Only the problem with this is that it is new to all of us; we have to cope with it to learn it properly and follow it in a right way. This tax system brings us common procedures for duty payments, return filing and refund of taxes. It may take a few months to channelise into right places, after that, in the long run, GST will bring us a lot of benefits.

GST is a good move to bring transparency in taxation. The law is not merely reforming the tax system, but ending all sorts of tax frauds in business. As the new tax reformation is just begun, we have to wait and experience it further, for it will surely bring unmatched benefits to many in the industry. Transport of products and materials under this ‘one tax and one country’ norm will be a big benefit for every one of us in the industry.

Mehta Cad Cam Systems Pvt Ltd

It’s quite an obvious fact that GST is a new benefit for all of us. The idea of ‘one tax system for one nation’ is marvellous. With this new taxation system, a lot of benefits will be coming up for us in the long term. For example, in our industry, GST will bring flawless flow of tax credits from manufactures or distributors in supplying of machines to end users. This new tax law will bring all cascading of taxes to an end.

More of less, a big benefit we get from the implementation of GST is the lessening of ‘excise taxes’ across the country. And another added benefit this new law has brought to us is the ‘quick return’ time as delay in tax return has been one of the biggest problems we constantly face over the years. At the end of the day, I think this law will boost investments and exports, by eliminating the multiplicity of taxes.

It may sound too early to comment at length on GST now, because the new taxation law is just started. However, my overall idea is that this will surely bring a lot of benefits to our industry in future. Such law will make everything transparent in taxing and reduction in duties like excise and others in the industry. This taxation system is for long-term benefits.
–Deepak Kumar Wadhwa, director,
Infinity Digital Solutions Pvt Ltd

I appreciate this new tax law called GST. In my opinion, this is the right measure to eliminate ‘black market’ in the industry. In addition, such tax law will bring a lot of benefits for us who engage in transport of goods or products all over the country. We are headquartered at Cochin and it takes around 4-5 days to deliver our machines to far-off parts of the country. In this respect, GST will bring transparency in transport of goods and other such taxable activities.

Though we have been through GST over the last few months, there are still a lot we have to cope with the new tax law. More or less, it has been implemented positively. The law is designed to bring more efficient neutralisation of taxes to make transports easy and transparent. I think, it may take around 4-5 months to settle everything with the new tax law.

NEGI Sign Systems & Supplies Co

We must accept GST in a positive way for it is a new and simplified tax system with fewer exemptions. And most of all, implementation of such tax law will bring a big regulation in cash flow across the country—all black money will be converted into white, for sure. I hope this new tax system will surely ensure certainty in tax administration in the country, in the long run.
