Anti-curling and rigid banner media from TechNova

Over the past few years, digitally printed media displays have virtually sprung up everywhere. Ranging from retail advertising in malls, movie merchandise promotions in theatres to banners promoting coffee shops at airports, POS/POP and signage displays are hard to miss at any corner in cities and towns. With the rising popularity of stand-up and roll-up banners, almost anybody can set up a signage in a matter of minutes. But many times, the things that seem so simple can easily turn up shabby, if not done right, with the right material. This is especially true with banner media, which curls and distorts easily. To do away with this problem, TechNova Imaging Systems (P) Limited offers its NovaSign anti-curl and rigid stand banner media.

With the growing need for signages and displays, demand for the right type of media is booming for many reasons. Digital prints offer sharper and more vibrant prints; can be output in various sizes; and the media is available in non-adhesive as well as self-adhesive variants, to suit different applications. However, many brand managers and print service providers (PSPs) often face problems with sub-standard banner media, which looks nice and flat in the first place, but starts curling up at the edges soon after putting up on the stand. In addition to curling, ordinary flex or banner media also fray at the edges (due to untrimmed edges), and even tilt/lean towards one side due to the non-rigid media.

Such problems not only make a signage look unimpressive, but also its shabby appearance can even turn off a prospective customer from the brand. Though PSPs being aware of such drawbacks, many just ignore it due to the lack of better alternatives. Similarly, the brand manager is also forced to accept a spring/stand banner with curled-up designs and frayed edges. But the worry ends here as TechNova, India’s leading imaging solutions provider, keeps such problem at bay with the introduction of fine-quality NovaSign media.

NovaSign BannerSatin PVC media

TechNova’s NovaSign BannerSatin PVC 200 (SRB 7008) virtually guarantees the elimination of curling problems once for all and is all set to change the overall looks of indoor and outdoor banner displays. This media is a tear-resistant ‘polyvinyl chloride’ material designed to perfectly compatible with different digital printing technologies. It has a thicker base as compared to ordinary banner media available in the market.

The special anti-curl feature of NovaSign BannerSatin PVC 200 allows it to stay still and rigid, once fixed onto the roll-up or stand banners. This quality ensures that the feel and finish of the media is of the highest standard at all times, even months after being fixed on the banner. At the same time, whenever required, the media can be easily rolled up and transported anywhere very easily.

Some of the unique advantages that make this media an ideal choice for stand-up and roll-up banners include its high opacity for limited show-through; high-whiteness for wide colour gamut and deep rich colours; and high image definition and line clarity for better resolution and sharper images. Shankar Raman, GM, Sales, TechNova Imaging System (P) Limited states, “NovaSign BannerSatin PVC 200 is the only banner media compatible with all technologies: eco-solvent, solvent, UV, screen and Latex printing. This makes it convenient for PSPs equipped with multiple technology printers to use a single media, thereby reducing the cost of stocking various medias. This also ensures that end users get a media of consistent quality and finish.”

Dual-purpose banner and poster media

NovaSign BannerSatin PVC 200 (SRB 7008) is quite versatile as it can be used as a poster media as well, in combination with TechNova’s Ezee Mount Solution. Since the media has a much thicker base as compared to ordinary media, it allows PSPs to mount the printed poster/signage directly onto the surface where they are to be displayed, with the help of any TechNova recommended combination tape.

This media completely eliminates the need for pasting prints on separate mounting board, thereby reducing fabrication cost and time. Since fixing the double-sided tape on to the media is as simple as sticking tape on to any surface, the job can be done in a matter of minutes, without requiring skilled personnel. The mounting tape can easily support the lightweight media, and there is no risk of the media falling off.

Customers’ appreciations

The benefit of using NovaSign BannerSatin PVC 200 (SRB 7008) as compared to ordinary banner media such as flex or ordinary Chinese PP media is quite significant. This rigid media does not require multiple reprints like other media that start curling and sagging soon after being put up. Additionally, messages on stand banners printed on NovaSign media create a longer impact on the minds of onlookers/audiences.

Many PSPs who have tried this media have given it a ‘thumbs up’. Paul Zachariah, director, Digital Imaging Inc, Bangalore, who has used NovaSign media is very positive about it. “As we have used SRB 7008 for stand banners for our leading corporate clients, this media has proved to be excellent for the application. The printability is comparable to any international brand and is easy to handle,” he remarks. Like Paul, hundreds of other PSPs have discovered the benefits of using NovaSign BannerSatin PVC 200 (SRB 7008). And no doubt, more customers are yet coming up to switch over to this media.
