An overview of CHINA PRINT 2017

Providing an overview of the expo, CHINA PRINT has recently organised the International Media Week for China Print 2017 and InfoPrint 2016 in Beijing, inviting international delegates from different countries. SONAL KHURANA, editor of SIGN & GRAPHICS, took part in the pre-event briefing.

Organised by China Print Show Company Limited, with the collaborative sponsorship from Printing and Printing Equipment Industries Association of China (PEIAC) and China International Exhibition Centre Group Corporation (CIEC), CHINA PRINT 2017 has been scheduled from May 09-13, 2017 at New China International Exhibition Centre. Booth applications for the international trade expo keep approaching to a closure.

At the International Media Week for China Print 2017 and InfoPrint 2016, the organisers presented a preparatory progress of the expo to a crowd of 300 delegations comprising exhibitors, potential visitors and media personnel from over 20 countries, which included India, Australia, Bangladesh, China, France, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Pakistan, Russia, Philippines and UAE.

The interactive week was hosted by Lijian Wang, vice president and secretary-general of PEIAC. “As on November 30, 2016, more than 1,000 companies from China and abroad submitted their applications online with more than 1,58,000 sq m of the show floor has so far been reserved, which means almost all halls are now fully occupied,” he said, adding that some supporting halls covering 40,000 sq m will be constructed right outside the main exhibition halls, so as to meet the additional demand from the exhibitors. The development of CHINA PRINT is not only full of hope and vitality, but also poised to be an international brand. CIEC and PEIAC are continuing close cooperation to make the best of advantages, shaping the expo into a more successful fair.

Jian’guo Xu, president of PEIAC and Shijun Zheng, vice president of CIEC, also participated in the event. “As for the organisation of the overseas professional buyers, we will fully take the advantages of the network of Asia Print and Global Print. We have already received confirmations to organise the buyer delegations coming from South Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, India, Indonesia, Pakistan, Philippines and Vietnam,” he mentioned.

Weici Cai gave an analysis on the current status of China’s machinery industries, while Hui Zhao introduced the latest preparatory progress of CHINA PRINT 2017 in detail. The event successfully came to an end with Chang’an Lu’s closing remarks. Prior to the event, the delegates also had a trip to China Printing Museum to discover the long history of Chinese printing methodologies and its development; later, the next stop was Topcent Industrial Park where the visitors were introduced to the contemporary status of China’s printing industry.

Enriched with presentations, seminars, media interactions, interactive discussions and visits to printing sites, the event also stimulated the cooperation and communication amongst the government, associations, organising committee, exhibitors, visitors and media. Representatives from big exhibitors like HP Inc, Konica Minolta, were among the delegates.

Great expectations

CHINA PRINT 2017, which is the 9th Beijing International Printing Technology Exhibition, is estimated to pull more than 1,300 exhibitors on a total exhibition floor of 160,000 sq m. About the footfalls, the organisers expect more than 200,000 visitors from all over the world, which may set a new record this year.

In the 2013 edition of CHINA PRINT, the horde of visitors from India to the expo formed 16 percent of the total crowd; and the figure is expected to be the same this year again.
