Negi Sign gears up to produce inkjet printers in India
Negi Sign has always set benchmarks for the industry peers with their futuristic vision.
So, when Indian OOH market is expanding at a very phenomenal pace, they have done it again…an exemplary endeavour. They are setting up a new production unit, where they will assemble printers based on the spectra head technology, for the Indian market.
Looking at the evolving OOH/digital signage industry, which is still a very price conscious market, Negi Sign System & Supplies Co again went a step ahead, and this time, they are planning to assemble printers in India based on the spectra head technology. These are the same popular Mutoh Toucan printers, which would be assembled, distributed and then re-branded as Negijet printers with the technical know how of Mutoh, Japan.
Also, a factory has been setup in north India at Dehradun, the capital of Uttranchal. Spreading across 25,000 sqft, the Negi setup is equipped with complete facilities and latest equipments for assembling the printers. Initially, the capacity of the facility will
be 100 units a year.

Established in 1995, Negi Sign is one of the leading suppliers to the sign and graphics industry in India. In just a little more than ten years, Negi Sign revolutionized super wide digital inkjet technology. Innovation after innovation, they changed the way world looks at out-of-home graphics.
The company started the revolution in 1995 with the introduction of the sign cutting plotters, a computerized plotter capable of cutting self-adhesive vinyls for the signage applications. Then came the 54” inkjet printer for outdoor applications. This was the first printer of its kind available in the Indian market. Again, in 2000, inkjet technology was revolutionized with the introduction of the first mid format (54”) solvent printer with 384 dpi resolution. Continuing their drive for innovation, they brought the large format solvent printers in 2002, 64” and 87” (Toucan series), followed by the 3.3m Osprey and ValuJet (eco-solvent printer with wave technology). With more than 250 plus installations all over India, this is one of the most popular brands in the Indian market.
Increasing demand made Negi Sign to introduce Trotec laser engravers and multicam CNC routers. Also Alpolic aluminum composite panels from Mitsubishi Chemicals, Japan were introduced later, which is successfully being used by oil companies such as BPCL, IOL, HPCL and Reliance for their gas station visual identity programme. For the Xaar head printers, they offer Piezojet, high quality premium inks, through a dealer network all across India
A few moths back, they started NAC Online, an agency for corporate sales, which specializes in identity visuals, signages, indoor/outdoor prints, branding, using its existing customer base all over India for the execution of jobs. With a total strength of 80 people, Negi Sign Systems is headquartered in Mumbai, with nine regional and branch offices, targeting total 15 offices by end of March 2008.
At the upcoming FESPA India 2007, their company will display Blizzard mild solvent printer, ValueJet flatbed printer with Bio inks, and Viper TX for the textile market and RJ 900 for the CAD market. All that and more in just over ten years…Negi Sign truly deserve the success, they are enjoying.
