3M introduces new ultra-removable print wrap film
3M has announced the introduction of a new wrap film that makes it nearly impossible to fall out of fashion. This newly unpacked 3M Print Wrap Film IJ180mC-10UR is an ultra-removable print wrap film that comes off quickly and cleanly. Mactac releases PermaColor
anti-graffiti and window protection films
Designed to add durability to graphic images and windows, Mactac has announced the release of the PermaColor anti-graffiti and window protection films. The line of films is available in three configurations that are designed to prevent graffiti, scratches, acid-etching gouges, UV light damage, and tagging. Among the films, SAG 36 is a 1.7-mil economy film for graphics on smooth surfaces; the 2-mil SAG 53 intermediate hard-coated film is designed for glass surfaces; and the heavy-duty 6.9-mil SAG 175 is engineered for public transportation applications. The new films are said to resist shattering and extend display life up to 5 or 10 years indoors and two years outdoors. Moreover, PermaColor Anti-Graffiti and Window Protection Films are clear with permanent acrylic adhesive and a smooth polyester lining, engineered for easy graffiti removal.
AGFA Graphics introduces LED version of Jeti Tauro
AGFA Graphics has introduced LED version of its Jeti Tauro H2500 LED, a flagship machine in the company’s wide-format UV inkjet portfolio, at the recent FESPA 2017 held in Hamburg. This 2.5m hybrid UV inkjet printer with an integrated roll-to-roll system features continuous and automated feeding of a wide range of flexible and rigid media, including several types of corrugated boards. This upgraded Jeti Tauro model relies on LED-curing technology as an alternative for the high energy-consuming mercury bulb lamps. AGFA Graphics’ automated Asanti workflow software drives the engine of Jeti Tauro H2500 LED. In addition, AGFA Graphics’ specially-formulated UV LED inks for the printer can print on a wide variety of rigid and flexible substrates guaranteeing outstanding print quality and perfect physical characteristics such as adhesion. These include heat-sensitive substrates such as thin slides, self-adhesive sheets and stretchable PVC materials.

Avery Dennison in India has introduced a brand new gloss white vinyl film, MPI 3800, designed for use in a wide range of short-term promotional applications in both indoor and outdoor environments. On the newly launched film, Shamrendra Kumar, business head, Graphics Solutions, South Asia and East & West Africa, Avery Dennison, said this new product will appeal to brand and real estate owners who need to install and remove promotional materials quickly and frequently – such as for campaign needs or festive occasions. He added, “MPI 3800 is capable to deliver vibrant and sharp images on a broad range of substrates.”
MPI 3800 is a quality film added latest to Avery Dennison’s extensive digital print portfolio of solutions for the fast-paced advertising industry. According to Shamrendra, MPI 3800 comes with a clear adhesive and is particularly suited for customers involved in short-term promotional applications such as exhibitions, POS graphics, shopping malls and office advertising as well as a gamut of indoor and outdoor wall coverings.
Printable across a wide range of digital printing platforms, MPI 3800 boasts of excellent lay-flatness and the film’s 80 micron thickness ensures ease of handling and application by installers. Additionally, the film’s PE-coated liner provides conversion efficiency. These features of the film translate into greater efficiency for installers and faster turnaround times in between installation jobs which is a critical factor for short-term promotional applications. MPI 3800 is compatible with a multitude of digital print platforms currently available in the market including latex, eco-solvent, solvent and UV curable ink.
Two new LED models from swissQprint
Like many other companies, swissQprint used FESPA 2017 in Hamburg as launch pad to introduce its two new LED models—Impala LED and Nyala LED. With a mechanically-perfected foundation, these models operate with even greater precision than their predecessors. LED curing makes the systems hugely versatile, highly profitable and environmentally friendly. There is a series of mechanical improvements in Impala LED and Nyala LED. Two out of the improvements: the beam architecture has been reworked for even better stability, and swissQprint has ensured that the flatbed is indeed perfectly flat over its entire surface of 3.2 x 2 m with Nyala LED and 2.5 x 2 m with Impala LED. All those points are combined to create ideal conditions for pinpoint-precise droplet placement and a homogeneous print image, while maintaining the usual high productivity.

XAAR has introduced XAAR 5501, a new addition to its portfolio of aqueous printheads.
