Just go beyond boundaries

Though the growth in our signage market has been scaling up to an affluent level in almost every single quarter, all buzz in the business of PSPs is still revolving around the usual verticals viz. production volume, machine portfolio, client list, fabrication and installation capabilities, etc. Even the applications where most of them working on are predominantly of those archetypical outdoor hoardings, backdrops, kiosks, bus shelters, among others. It’s quite true to say that these are very basic areas which one cannot ignore in signage business. But the question is how long one would remain glued to these parameters?

There is no point of imprisoning ourselves into the same old practices while the dynamism of this industry moves on in rapid pace, constantly sprouting impulses of newest machineries, technologies, products and applications. Take an instance of what were staged in the Live Experience Zones during the India Sign + Digital (ISD ’11) Expo held in New Delhi. The expo spectacularly carried out pretty good live demos of car wrapping, wall arts and textile prints, which are considered to be newly dug up treasures worth million opportunities for those planning to intensify their existing business with new opportunities.

Of course, vehicle wrapping is one such domain, which quite a few in the industry have picked up as a lucrative activity. But be prepared, this area of signage is still heaving with stipulations that provide provisions of new business landscapes exploitable under a bit of innovative or creative exertions. A large market with enormous potentials lies within auto accessories, targeting vehicle decoration, that too with a customised philosophy to specially focus the younger generation willing to experiment it. And also streaming down the fast lane as a new prospect is textile printing, which would open a fresh threshold to the world of cloth banners as well as other allied activities in several clusters like boutiques, fashion industry, so on.

Customised printing is yet another vital sphere where our conventional signage players can tow a pragmatic line as wall arts in these days have eventually found its market in India. Still a long way to go ahead, prospect of wall graphics in our current signage market is looming large to click a right business. Potentials within wall arts could be bracketed under various perspectives since a gamut of customised applications ranging from interior wall of a corporate office upto children’s room decorations are on the rise. No doubt, this area would trigger conventional signage players pushing their business boundaries to where they had never been landed.
