India has the fastest growing organised retail sector in the world. This dramatic growth has fuelled a new signage segment that demands high quality substrates for organized retail. What are FOME-Plast® and FOME-Line®?
They are five mm Expanded PS(Polystyrene) sheets laminated with liners of 60-120 microns of rigid PVC or 200 gsm paper liners that will be offered in widths from 1-1.22 M and lengths up to
2.44 M. High volume custom orders can also be readily handled with fast lead times.
What are their applications?
These light weight, print grade display boards will have diverse graphic applications for in-store promotions. The boards can be easily knife cut, direct screen-printed, digitally printed as well as painted and mounted. The foamboards are perfect for creating point-of-purchase displays, signage, exhibits and kiosks designed for short to mid-term use, as well as for custom framing applications.

Among the innovations flowing in across the industry in the recent past is Aalan’s latest digital printing film that can be used as carpets at expos and POS into ad space. ASLAN DFP 49 is especially designed film for temporary use. The film sticks well on carpets and easily removable after short-term application. Graphic Technologies Sign Park unveils Taimes and Epson printers
Among the mega launches during the Sign India 2011 Expo held recently at HITEX Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad included Taimes Seiko 1020 and Epson DX5 eco-solvent printers from Chennai-based Graphic Technologies Sign Park Private Limited. Taimes Seiko 1020 is equipped with original Japanese drop on demand piezo printhead with steel plate protected, 1020 active nozzles. Its four colour plus 720 dpi delivers unmatchable resolution in 107 sq m/hour.
Epson DX5 is a four-colour eco-solvent printer with high speed and high resolution, compatible with different kinds of inks. This printer can print up to 1440dpi resolution producing the finest texture of 0.5 mm size letters. Epson DX5 is designed to run with three different sizes of dots, achieving the complement of point technology, eliminating the granular sensation of images. Even under high speed or low resolution, it produces high quality image texture. Its multi-row pinch rollers ensure that the printer can print with an accurate size of feeding media.

He is one of the internationally renowned professional car wrap installers. Justin Pate has produced a series of vehicle graphic installation DVDs so far. And his latest release includes ‘Advanced Wrapping’ and ‘Speedwrapping’, which are geared for intermediate and professional installer. These newly released DVDs are coming under ‘Techniques and Tips’ training series.
‘Advanced Wrapping’ is all wrapping the complex aspects of vehicles. Mutoh releases 3D UV ink
Leading digital wide-format inkjet printer manufacturer Mutoh announces the immediate availability of a new set of CMYK stretchable UV inks called 3D UV. Designed specifically for the company’s Zephyr 65 UV inkjet printer, this new UV ink offers 200 percent elongation capabilities, which in turn makes outputs fit for wrapping on 3D curved, riveted or corrugated surfaces. This new non-HAP, zero VOC and odourless ink will cover the widest possible range of roll-to-roll applications and is also suited for rigid printing.

FUJIFILM Dimatix expands family of Spectra Polaris printheads
Introduction of three new printhead models has expanded FUJIFILM Dimatix’s already extensive Spectra Polaris brand of 512-jet, general-purpose, binary, drop-on-demand printheads. The three models have 15, 35 and 85 picoliter fundamental drop sizes. Known as PQ-512/15 AAA-2C, PQ-512/35 AAA-2C and PQ-512/85 AAA-2C, arrayed at 100 dpi, to jet two-colours simultaneously, using only one Polaris 512-jet printhead, the newly introduced printheads complement the earlier models.
Employing a durable metal nozzle plate and utilising the binary operating capability of Dimatix’s VersaDrop jetting technology, Polaris 512 printheads deliver adjustable ink drop sizes from 15 to 200 picoliters from 512 individually addressable inkjet nozzles with remarkable jet straightness. Oce unwraps new line of specialty vinyls for display graphics
