EPSON rolls out two new
quality papers



EPSON announces the launch of two new fine art papers, demonstrated at the Photokina 2018 in Cologne, which are tailored to work with company’s SureColor SC-P and Stylus Pro printers and with its various generations of UltraChrome inks. According to a source from the company, the newly unpacked fine art papers boast an improved colour gamut and have achieved the 60 years or better archival requirement of its Digigraphie standard for top quality work. Natural white or bright white versions of the papers will be available with immediate effect and are supplied in 300gsm weights.

The results of the papers with SureColor SC-P printers offer an expanded gamut compared to the previous generation of cold press and hot press papers. With the new fine art papers, users will benefit from the ICC profiles and settings incorporated into the drivers of SC-P series printers which make working with the papers very easy and controllable.




XAAR launches latest XAAR 5601 integrator


XAAR has launched its XAAR5601 printhead. Eight years in development, the XAAR 5601 is generating significant interest with its exceptionally high-resolution print at high speed, and more than 5600 nozzles, capable of jetting up to eight litres of fluid per hour. A growing number of OEMs are developing their print solutions based on the XAAR 5601, such as Windmöller & Hölscher, which was announced earlier in 2018. The results of another recent innovation – XAAR’s unique High Laydown (HL) Technology, is designed to enable the printing of a range of textured effects on labels, folding cartons and other products. Such high-build, textured embellishments (also called tactile or dimensional effects) can be used to significantly enhance the shelf appeal of products and ensure they stand out on display.




InkTec releases three new
Jetrix printers



South Korean digital wide-format printer manufacturer InkTec has launched three new Jetrix printers to add to its range of roll-to-roll LED-UV flatbed printers. Building on the technology of its popular KX6 and KX7 models, the company has added the eight-channel LXi6 and LXi7 LED-UV flatbed printers. These high performance printers have been designed and developed to deliver high efficiency and come equipped with more advanced systems than their previous counterparts, including a smarter GUI. The stronger vacuum combined with functional and vibrant ink make them easy and convenient to us. The smaller LXi6 takes media up to 2.5 x 1.28m and the LXi7 extends the media size up to 2.5 x 3.06 m, with both offering an optional enhanced roll-to-roll option. Capable to run at the top speeds of 78 sq m/hr with a maximum resolution of 1,080 dpi, both the systems are being pitched as a mid-range LED-UV flatbed printers for PSPs looking to enter wide-format or upgrade current equipment.




EFI unveils of new VUTEk h5 hybrid

EFI recently organised EFI Connect 2019 conference at Las Vegas, Nevada, with the official launch of several new digital print technologies including VUTEk h5 hybrid LED printer. This newest high-speed, premium-quality hybrid flatbed/roll-to-roll superwide-format LED printer features advanced FS350 platform for EFI Fiery digital front ends (DFEs). The new Fiery proServer Premium DFE technology offering significantly faster processing on individual jobs for EFI superwide-format printers. The 126-inch wide printer can run up to 109 boards per hour and offers eight-colour and optional four-colour printing modes plus white, as well as an up to nine-layer print capability. The h5 model, which is also available as a field upgrade to the EFI VUTEk h3 printer, features UltraDrop Technology with native 7-picoliter grayscale printhead imaging and true multi-drop addressability, delivering exceptional smoothness in shadows, gradients and transitions.

MIMAKI launches new MUH-100-Si UV-curable metallic ink


Pushing the boundaries of graphic expression beyond conventional UV flatbed inkjet printers, MIMAKI has launched a new ink compatible with its UJF-7151plus printer, which produces high-quality print in range of applications from gifts and novelty items to wide-format boards. Created by mixing a bright pigment into the ink, this newly launched MIMAKI MUH-100-Si ink can place metallic ink directly onto the product without the need for a separate manual transfer process, as is the case when applying glitters or foils to produce a metallic effect. 3M releases new tech tools
for graphic manufacturers and installers

Avery Dennison’s new paint protection film offers self-healing performance. The SPF-XI Supreme Protection film maintains a vehicle’s appearance while helping to retain resale value by shielding paint from unsightly damage. The clear polyurethane film protects paint from stone chips, road debris, insect stains, weathering and minor abrasions without degrading a vehicle’s finish. FUJIFILM launches Acuity LED 40 Series of flatbed printers


FUJIFILM announces the newest addition of its Acuity flatbed range offering customers added flexibility, increased sustainability and enhanced print quality. These newly launched Acuity LED 40 series of flatbed printers are built on the success of Acuity Select 20 and on FUJIFILM’s expertise in LED curing that dates back to the launch of the Acuity LED 1600 seven years ago. MagnaColours develops MagnaPrint textile emboss ink New from MagnaColours, MagnaPrint Emboss Ink is a ready-to-use, water-based printing paste, engineered for creating embossed or raised areas on printed textiles. The ink can be applied just like a standard printing paste onto desired areas of a garment. Following curing and washing processes, the ink leaves behind embossed, raised areas on the material, altering its appearance and structure. The new ink simulates the heat set embossing and pleating process by developing itself for screen-printers. When printed on to polyester, the ink expands, contracting certain areas of the fabric and creating a permanent embossed effect. This newly launched MagnaPrint is an exciting new ink for the MagnaPrint range and something brand new for the screen-printing industry.




Kornit introduces new Atlas direct-to-garment printer


Digital textile printing manufacturer Kornit Digital has announced the launch of all-new super-industrial Atlas which has been radically designed for high-volume production.
