Ban on flex in the state of Maharashtra
is not a clear order: Vinay Verma

Concerning the issue of flex ban in Maharashtra, Vinay Verma, sr VP (sales & operation Canadian Specialty Vinyls (CSV), says there is no such clear order or cut-off date from the state government to stop using the material in the state. “The issue is more about polythene causing drainage blockage and other environmental problems in the city,” he mentions, adding that the similar ban was imposed in the state of Chhattisgarh earlier, but the High Court gave a ruling to lift the ban; so the same judgment can be shared with honorable Mumbai High Court. “It’s quite a fact that flex has been banned in some other states; but the issue in Maharashtra is different, and there is 99 percent chance that it will be lifted if we all industry people stand together in unity against it,” urges Vinay.

At its manufacturing plant in Kashipur (Uttarakhand), Canadian Specialty Vinyls (CSV) produces a diverge range of calendared PVC films for various commercial applications, like banners, billboards, pneumatic toys, furniture films, industrial curtains, raincoats, plastic bags and many more.
