Client’s summary

Worldmark is the newest addition to DIAL’s (Delhi International Airport (P) Limited) hospitality district development near the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi. Strategically located at the heart of Aerocity, this new hub of national and international business giants and a destination for retail and F&B experiences is designed by Kohn Pederson Fox and Benoy. This modernist collection of buildings is surrounded by some of the world’s iconic hospitality brands.

Designs and materials

VADS began working with Bharti Realty, the developers of Worldmark as a signage design consultant for this project a few years back. The design process began with defining the navigation strategies and the site addressing system. Overall designs evolved in keeping the premium positioning of the project with the use of glass, brushed speciality steel and brass with distinction in material finish and colour have been used to distinguish between the properties and the functions within.

Tactical totems

Externally, outside Worldmark, canopies are mounted on the building as address signs. The freestanding double-channel signs are internally illuminated to create a halo effect when lit. And when it comes to external address totem pole, it is a ten-metre tall glass and steel system and the structure is internally illuminated with colour changing LEDs which will be programmed to respond to footfall, season, festivals, etc. In addition to being a building address sign, this totem sign is also designed to provide essential navigation and tenant information of Worldmark.

Site direction totems

Site navigation around Worldmark is being handled by a series of internally illuminated perimeter totems, which are constructed in unique designs with unique graphics. Site directories are well placed in strategic points around. The double-sided directories positioned on the site exterior are smartly constructed in combination of static and dynamic information signs.

Internal display systems

Internal surroundings of Worldmark have set with all utility signage systems, which make navigation easier and accessible all corners for the visitors. The internal signage systems are made of SS, wood, glass and cast vinyl materials, chosen for best outlook, texture and durability.
