Broader opportunities in textile printing
Garment printing may sound like an off-track activity to a PSP. But
it’s not so at all! Now the time has come for PSPs to move a bit out
of their typical activities to tap some fresh business opportunities
accumulated in certain untapped domains—like garment printing. One may
ask ‘how?’ We all see that a huge amount of fresh opportunities is surging
expansively in textile printing as this green and innovative technology gives
birth to different lucrative verticals, such as soft
signage. In fact, textile printing has a lot more than soft
signage or others one could ever expect in usual ways.
PSPs having production setups with textile printers or
those who plan for one can take up garment printing to
broaden their business towards a brand new vertical.
Be it cloth manufacturers, garment export firms, fabric
companies, fashion designers or others in the industry,
they all are in need or pursuit of the best way or
technology to print their products. But they are not the
ones who run a printing facility. Then how do they get their garments printed?
Who will fulfil their requirements? PSPs can give the right answers! Now,
PSPs must prepare themselves to tap a huge job works from these garment
companies or fashion houses. In fact, these garment companies have little or
no knowledge of printing technology. They must be quite mindful about colours,
textures and designs, but effective printing can be delivered practically only by
a professional garment printer or a PSP.
As long as introductions of new and advanced textile printers and relative
software over the last few years are concerned, PSPs are now fully privileged
to pick any industrial inkjet printer of their choice to deliver the best of prints
as per the need or demand of their clients (garment companies). Descendants
of desktop garment printers, a mass revolution of direct-to-garment industrial
printers have been surfaced over the last one decade or so. Resolutions and
speeds of these textile printers have rocketed to a new standard over time
and they are now fit for high volume productions and considered to be quality
brands par excellence in garment printing.
In this issue, we cover Lucknow for the second time after a gap of five years
under our regular ‘Region Exclusive’ column. What we found during our
interactions with some of the select signage players in this capital city of Uttar
Pradesh was really impressive for the fact that most of them have come out of
traditional closets and looking ahead to adoption of cutting-edge technologies.
Some of them are big names who are known all over the country and their
works/projects are dotted at pan-India levels. Their approach to make future
development with full of passion and dedication is cheerful. We wish them a
fully flourished future ahead.
