Amid the 400 exhibitors flaunting the whole gamut of printing machineries and technologies in
presence of over 80,000 trade visitors in the recent PRINTPACK INDIA 2015 held at India Expo Centre,
Greater Noida were a few large-format players, whose participation in the expo guided the industry to
fresh ever opportunities and new horizon of innovations in sign making. SIGN & GRAPHICS captures

Esko Graphics, Apsom Infotex, Monotech, Mehta Cad Cam, Keith Electronics and UV Printers.

Accelerating the ongoing revolution
of UV printing in the signage
world, a select group of exhibitors
at PRINTPACK INDIA 2015 beamed
their focus on the advanced technology,
offering a broaden and brighter aspects in
digital large-format domain. FUJIFILM
India, presenting its Equity EY UV flatbed
printer, attracted crowd to the machine’s
breakthrough in imaging technology. The
printer is a perfect combination of advanced
features to deliver near photographic print
quality effectively. It can handle array of
rigid materials up to 48 mm thick and its
‘white ink’ option provides the opportunity
to accept high-value rigid materials, such as
metal, wood, clear and coloured products.
“Our introduction of Equity EY UV is to
awaken the signage world to an avenue
diverted from the conventional way,” says
Kamlesh Mani Tripathi, national manager,
FUJIFILM India Private Limited.
Canon India was another presenter of
UV power at PRINTPACK INDIA 2015.
Referring to the company’s Oce Arizona
line of UV flatbed printers, Puneet Datta,
director, Professional Printing Products
Division, Canon India Pvt Ltd truly
articulated that high-end series of the
printers are for those who want to diversify
themselves towards quality and versatility.
“Canon is here to scale up everyone’s
business in a very cost-effective way,” he
mentioned. He further added, “If you want
to expand your business covering different
market segments, such as in-shop branding,
corporate building decors, etc, Oce Arizona
can provide you the right solutions.”
All that rush swallowing up the stand of
Apsom Infotex was for the company’s
latest machinery marvels presented during
the expo. Giving a special highlight of the
company’s range of soft signage ColorJet
printers, other machines on display included
the latest VersaUV LEF-20 table top
printer that can print directly on an endless
range of substrates and three dimensional
objects. “New revolution is now picking
up in the textile domain. To the tune, we
have introduced a line of versatile textile
printers, among which Softjet is worth
mentioning,” remarked Ravi Agarwala,
director, Apsom Infotex Limited. Shown at
the company’s stand also included others,
comprising the popular Colorjet Verve true
flatbed printer, VersaCAMM VS Series and
Colorjet Neptune. Sultan Singh of Apsom
Infotex Limited termed the showcase a
complete combo.
Presentation of its PixleJet 1212 UV flatbed
printer among a gamut of showcases at the
colossal stand of Monotech Systems hauled
the visitors around. This printer is compatibly
engineered to accept glass, acrylic, door,
foam boards, wood, PS materials, among
others. “Signage and packaging are now
sunshine domains and our PixleJet 1212 UV
is suitable for varied range of applications
in these arenas,” said Gurvinder Singh,
general manager, Monotech Systems. Under
this approach, other crowd-pulling products
on display at the company’s stand included
PixelJet UV LED 4275 flatbed printer,
which is capable to print gift items, crystal
plaques, etc as well as the most sought after
Color Logic software in the combo, offering
innovative applications.
Unpacked exclusively new during
PRINTPACK INDIA 2015 from Mehta
Cad Cam Systems was its indigenously
manufactured EVAN fiber laser marking
machine (for carving on metals, plastics,
silicon, etc). Fast, flexible and efficient
are some adjectives to define this newly
introduced laser machine. “New at the
show from our end is the six feet Thunderjet
(A1801S/A1802S), which is 30 percent
faster than the existing models and it’s made
of fibre body,” explained Shailesh Mehta,
director, Mehta Cad Cam Systems Pvt Ltd.
Above all, in the showcase was also the
newly released Gongzheng 3202SG/3204G,
equipped with the cleanable Spectra Starfire
printheads and capable to run up to 248 sq
m/hr and it really pulled the crowd.
In the UV front, UV Printers always set foot
forward. The company showcased the latest
Dilli NEOTITAN series, which is a combo
type flatbed/roll-to-roll printers, capable to
run at the maximum speed of 33 sq m/hr
on media ranging from coated to uncoated
materials in 720x1440 dpi. “People who
want to have good quality, high productivity
in low cost UV prints must go for this
(Dilli NEOTITAN) printer,” suggested Kirti
Vijay Sharma of UV Printers. He further
mentioned that the overall advantages of the
printer would help people find new pathways
in business using UV technology.
Precision cutting
Router-cut and laser-engraved display items
find new vigour in the signage industry. Esko
substantiated this fact during PRINTPACK
INDIA 2015 by presenting its Kongsberg
V Series, reliably modelled cutter for
signage, displays and packaging sample
productions. “Of course, Kongsberg V is
designed with a MultiCUT tool head to offer
milling productivity and a camera system.
It combines all the tool insert options with
a milling spindle up to 45 RPM and can
give accuracy to cutting sunboard, acrylic
and other materials than conventional
cutters,” explained Shrihari K Rao, sales
director, Esko Graphics. Throwing light at
the company’s stand was on ArtiosCAD
software, a leading structural design
solution for signage displays and packaging.
Keith Electronics, presenting its range
of Graphtec laser machines and cutting
plotters at the fair, opened up new
opportunities and possibilities in the
world of engraved/cut-signage. “We have
technologically upgraded our machines
to new standards to meet the increasing
market demands for advanced applications,”
explained Raj Chopra, director, Keith
Electronics Pvt Ltd. He mentioned that the
company’s engraving machines are now
designed to perfectly handle die making
sampling. “It’s good to see people taking
ardent interest in our products during the
fair and we foresee new market growth
ahead,” optimistically said Raj.
Intelligent, efficient and flexible digital
S3 M 800 cutter was what Zund India put
up attractively at their stand. Ever since
its launch in 2012, this high-performance
cutting machine has been widely demanded
and acclaimed for its precision. Prasanna
Venkatesh VA, general manager, Zund India
Pvt Ltd said that the machine is designed
for an extensive range of applications right
from graphic art to packaging, leather, textile
and many others. He further explained that
the modular tooling features of S3 M800
could be configured as per the user’s needs by
selecting tools of varied purposes.
What all observed about the fresh prospects
in the signage segment, which some
big exhibitors demonstrated during the
PRINTPACK INDIA 2015, indicated a new
momentum of future growth in the realm
of UV printing, routed and laser-engraved
signage or display items. It’s time to reap

rushed to Pack Print International 2013 and

edition of the fair recorded a 30 percent increase
