Supra Digital boundless for
acclaimed retail solutions and beyond…

Located in a tucked-away Uttarahalli area from the city of Bengaluru is Supra Digital whose service and products do reach extreme corners of the country. This signage major is known for complete retail/in-store solutions churning out in their state-of-the-art production facility equipped with a row of extremely high-end machineries. DEEPAK MAGAR, who is the man behind the brilliant success of the company, shared few moments with SIGN & GRAPHICS to unfold their efforts and achievements which have eventually brought them to the position they have attained today.

Eying the potential lying ahead within the signage industry, Supra Digital emerged in the year 1998 as a brainchild of Deepak Magar who was professionally an ad guru. Since then the company had been involved specifically in showroom window display jobs for a few years before the big-bang expansion taken place in their business in 2002. “We owned not even a single machine in the first place,” said Deepak adding that the tremendous increase in demand for printed materials from their regular clients persuaded them to unveil a digital large-format printing unit.

Groundbreaking setup

“We got suggestions from Hewlett Packard (HP) recommending us to be very visionary; and outsourcing wouldn’t be the right way to carry business forward in a bigger way as a production facility is quite mandatory if we wish to take a long road to the world of signage,” asserted Deepak adding that he agreed to that and adopted an HP 5000 and a couple of HP 5500 inkjet printers, which started producing stunning graphics for window displays. “I am quite adaptive to new technologies surfacing in the market,” he remarked while recounting how the company’s infrastructure has been developed to a mammoth level today, following the continuous adoptions of a range of high-end machines.

In order to maintain versatility in jobs, Supra Digital updated their infrastructure by adding a five feet NEGI printer and a Challenger with which they could efficiently handle all solvent outputs. “It was in the mid-2000s when eco-solvent technology marked a new chapter of quality prints in the market, we adopted Negi Sign Systems’ Mutoh Valuejet, which was perhaps the first-of-its-kind printer ever installed in the city,” mentioned Deepak. Afterwards the infrastructure of the company turned into a huge setup of 10,000 sq ft equipped with HP Designjet L65500, three HP Designjet 8000s, NEGI Valuejet and others including CNC router, laser engraver, etc.

Unique trait

“We don’t want to call ourselves a printer as our jobs and deliveries are far more than mere printing of flex or vinyl materials,” conveyed Deepak. He added, “Let’s take an example of our window display or showroom job, we cater a complete combo of retail solutions, be it printing on plastic, wood, powder coating or others to fabricate the entire outlook of outlet.” According to Deepak, passion for quality is the ultimate mantra that makes Supra Digital outshine among its counterparts. The company is quite conscious about the selection of technologies and consumables. For instance, when it comes to ink, Supra Digital never uses any third party brand.

Longtime clientele

Most of Supra Digital’s clients have been associated with them over many years. “In fact, we are proud of being such a company capable to sustain a mutual relationship with our customers ever since the day we first met them,” revealed Deepak. Marks & Spencer is one of the regular clients which have been associated with the company over the last six years. Madura Garments is another prestigious customer for whom Supra Digital worked 99.9 percent of their window displays for a long time. Other eminent corporate giants in the list of the company’s regular clients include Titan, Lifestyle and Mom & Me.

“We have been associated with all Mom & Me showrooms all over south India for their in-shop displays, graphics and others,” said Deepak adding that Supra Digital has set its foot in far and near corners of the country to work for this giant retail chain. The company has worked for Mom & Me outlets based in far off destinations like Aurangabad (Maharashtra), and Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh). Peter England (People) is another big client whose showrooms designed by a German firm has been fabricated by Supra Digital. “We recently finished a Peter England (People) showroom in Kolkata,” informed Deepak.

Further plan

Sky is the limit for creative and innovative ideas outpouring at Supra Digital. Commenting on the company’s next level plan, Deepak revealed dye-sublimation technology would be a new twist in their activities. He admitted that textile printing is set to be another vital segment where the company could embark upon for a fresh business. Now, Supra Digital is in touch with HP for a compatible flatbed printer to kick start dye-sublimation project as another breakthrough.
