Chennai edition of Sign India 2018
receives overwhelming response


Business Trade Fairs’ ever popular exhibition Sign India in its 28th edition held at Chennai Trade Centre from October 12-14 marked yet another successful show revealing new market trends and products. The expo witnessed a handful of newly launched products and fresh innovations in terms of machines, materials and technologies for advanced signage production. A wave of more than 9,000 trade visitors from all over South India and the neighbouring regions gathered at the expo, which is designed to be a strategic networking point for taking business to a new level. SIGN & GRAPHICS reports a brief account of the three days of the Chennai edition of Sign India 2018.


Every edition of Sign India is proved to be a highlight of what is trending in the current signage market of India. Exhibitors in this widely popular indoor & outdoor and signage industry exhibition in the country showcase the latest signage products and solutions, which are suitable for the Indian market. Some of the key exhibitors at the Chennai edition of Sign India 2018 comprised ColorJet/Apsom Infotex, NEGI Sign Systems & Supplies Co, Mehta Cad Cam, JX Enterprises, PrintDelta, Unique Sign Innovations, Kheizer Sign, Pioneer Polyleathers, Gita & Company, ADS LED, Keith Electronics, among others.

Big showcases




















JX Enterprise was among the key exhibitors at the expo showing a line of innovative printers, among which the Gongzheng UV printer, GZM 3204HU, was announced as new launch from the company at the show. “This printer is designed with Dimatix Starfire printheads for high speed and low cost UV solution. It can run at the speed of 800 sq ft/hr in production mode,” said Varun S, Manager, JX Enterprise. The company sold its GZC 3202SG during the expo. An extended booth of the company showcased the whole range of Zingma A-Series design cutting plotters. ColorJet India/Apsom Infotex pulled crowd at the expo with the showcase of its Versa UV LEF system with bulk ink system. Paramjeet Gill from Apsom Infotex explained that the system is designed for countless product customisation possibilities. In addition, the other crowd-pulling showcases at the stall of the company included the ColorJet IRISJET RTR printer and ColorJet POLO HQ eco-solvent.

Khiezer Sign showcased its range of products comprising highly demanded K-Bend channel letter bending machines and Yongli line of laser tubes. Riyaz Siddiqui from Kheizer Sign said the Sign India is the right expo for those who want to explore the South Indian market and earn in the region. Key showcase at the stall of NEGI Sign Systems & Supplies Co was its ever popular MUTOH ValueJet VJ-1604X eco-solvent printer. “This eco-solvent printer is one of our key products so popular in the south Indian market,” says Umesh Poojari, adding that they highlight the printer to let the people in the region get hands-on experience of the system during the expo.

Major highlights at the stall of Pioneer Polyleathers were its Star Print products and newly introduced Pioneer Inks. Satyajit Kumar from the company said the Pioneer Inks are odourless and designed for all printheads. Unique Sign Innovations used the expo as launch pad to introduce its high speed YASLAN Plus XJ10 equipped with KM 1024i printhead and RICOH as optional. This newly launched YASLAN printer is an upgradable model with high-quality ink drying system. Mohammed Ali, Managing Director, Unique Sign Innovations, appreciated the way that Sign India pulled crowd for the newly launched printer for innovative indoor and outdoor applications.

Mehta Cad Cam Systems showcased a complete range of printers and machines for signage production. Diwakar Mishra, National Head –Marketing, Mehta Cad Cam Systems Pvt Ltd, said the company’s idea is to provide their customers complete choice of machines. Among the company’s big showcase of seven machines, key products included the RajJet UV LED flatbed printer, Mehta EX-Series CNC router, Mehta Erica-32 laser engraver, Mehta Tiger 48-3M laser engraver, Gloria 480 F fibre laser metal cutting system. PrintDelta (Rexton Digital Limited) showcased a premium range of printing materials such as wall papers, textile material, vehicle film, clear board film, ultra clear glass film and others.

Samarath Bhatnagar, Country Manager, LFP/Label, PrintDelta, said that the company provides whole choices of quality printing materials any PSP can choose from. Keith Electronics launched A140 Series aluminium bending machine at its stall during the expo. Raj Chopra, Managing Director, Keith Electronics Pvt Ltd, said the newly launched machine is ideal for aluminium profile channel letter, aluminium epoxy channel letter, trimless channel letter and liquid acrylic channel letter.

Gita & Company presented its 100 percent PVC fabric, which is a response to the ongoing flex ban drive. Vishal Doshi from Gita & Company said their aim is all about creating durability and eco-friendly media.

Other attractions

Monotech Systems attractively demonstrated its PixelJet Mini RTR entry level six feet UV LED RTR printer at the expo. Ajit Mohanty, General Manager, Monotech Systems Limited said they receive overwhelming visitors’ response to the newly introduced printer, which is equipped with XAAR1201 industrial grade printhead. Showing its popular Allwin range of printers, Newclear Technologies introduced RAYT-UV6090 small UV flatbed printer designed with 3 printheads.

Harikrishnan AP, Director – Sales & Marketing, said they got the advantage of showing the Allwin textile sublimation printer for the first time in an expo in South India at Sign India 2018 in Chennai.

Japanese wide-format lamination major LAMI Corporation at the stall of Graphic Technologies Sign Park attracted crowd to the showcase of its 1.6 Lami laminator. Kazuki Miyoshi from LAMI Corporation said that they are now in the stage of exploring the ever growing Indian market through some partners. Gopalakrishnan from Graphic Technologies Sign Park said LAMI products are simple and robust, suitable for people in pursuit of quality machines. “We are distributor of a range of brands such as EPSON, Taimes and Lami. In the portfolio, we will bring flatbed and 10 ft RTR printers by 2019,” he mentioned.

Visitors looking for quality LED modules and power supplies rushed to the stall of ADS LED during the expo. Ajay Chabra from the company said their presence at the Sign India is a feel good factor as they could meet right customers for their products during the expo. Among the exhibitors showing finishing products Polyfix presented a range of instant glues for banners and all other applications. Similarly, AIPL (Ajit Industries Pvt Ltd) presented a handful and high-micron robust industrial tapes for signage and other applications.

Another attraction is the launch of Accu-Bend ACE channel bending machine by JB Distributors during the expo. Skytech Technology Incorporation demonstrated its range of versatile UV flatbed machines. The company’s product profile consists of six ST Series of RTR and flatbed printers. “Our overall aim is to produce out-of-the-box products and technologies,” said Kamalnath Y, Sales Director, Skytek Technology Incorporation. Colors Digital India (CDI) showcased its range of imported and indigenously manufactured solvent, eco-solvent, textile and UV printers. Tejinder Singh, CEO, Colors Digital India said their participation at Sign India always helps them gain fresh impetus in business.

Maruti Flex Traders, another crowd puller at the show, displayed its range of printing materials for UV, latex, eco-solvent and solvent printers. Similarly, PV Media also showcased innovative range of printing materials. Unveiling some new products, TechNova presented a gallery full of NOVA SIGN, NOVAJET and NOVA TRANSFER printing materials, which consisted of sublimation paper, ultra clear window film, glass film and others. Unpacked new among them was the NOVA SIGN backlit material.

USAM, in partnership with HP Inc, showcased the prowess of latex printing with the showcase of a gamut of print samples churned using the technology. In this respect, the company had a road show around 11 South Indian cities.

LIPI Marketing demonstrated a range of printers among which the crowd puller was KenJet direct dye sublimation system designed for soft signage application. Among the new products unveiled at the expo was PALRAM’s PALBOARD, a multilayered PVC sheet, introduced newly in the Indian market. Other key exhibitors at the expo that showcased innovative products, machines and technologies included Signtrade, Southern Agencies, Maharaja Marketing, Daksh Enterprises, Alutech, Admark Digitech, SV Signs, Kripa Solutions, Sagar Displays, GB Tech and others.

The next edition of Sign India 2018 will be organised from December 14-16 at HITEX Exhibition Centre, Hyderabad, with JX Enterprises as the event sponsor.
