Goa going towards hitherto unexplored domains

Without peeling off the traditional layers, many signage players in Goa are heading towards innovative domains of LED signs and other illuminative display items suitably designed in accordance with the region’s climatic condition. They rather expressed that the innovation would give signage a chance to transform this coastal city of world-famous sandy beaches and coconut grooves into a new charm to attract international tourists. SIGN & GRAPHICS recently toured around Panaji, Margao and Porvorim areas of the city to interact with some select signage players who are persistently a mix of big moguls like Midway Trading Co and those who have taken up into new shapes to yearn for bigger and brighter sides of signage. They really have a great chemistry and exchanged views about bending upon the new aspects with JYANESWAR LAISHRAM.

Midway Trading Co
(Panaji)
Always leading for new pathways to excellence

Reckon those companies without them the signage industry of Goa could have never been attained what it is today. Midway Trading Co will come first in the counting. The reason for that is quite simple as this company incepted in 1993 was unveiled as a guiding leader to most of the sign makers in the city. It introduced polycarbonate sheet, which was sole material for high-end signage at that point of time. “Polycarbonate sheet was quite a new arrival in the market as there were just three sign makers in Goa when we introduced the material,” recalled Milind Shankhwalker of Midway Trading Co. He further mentioned that the company then progressed to add on other signage materials like GE Silicon and others as per new market trends.

“We educate people about the new and innovative products being introduced in the signage market,” said Milind while talking about the company’s role to let people understand advantages of new products, for instance, advantage polycarbonate sheets against acrylics. “This is how we got into the market by creating a niche space for ourselves,” narrated Milind. In the year 1995, Midway Trading Co first adopted cutting plotter and introduced the machine to many sign makers who eventually accelerated work speed to a new level. “Sign makers around Goa made a beeline at our doorstep to experiment the new technology that could churn out multiple boards a day,” recalled Milind.

The era of cutting plotter at Midway Trading Co’s facility coincided with the forays of multinational companies like Kingfisher, Pepsi and Coca Cola into the gradualy expanding market of Goa. Then another big turning point happened in Goa was when flex landed upon the region in the late 1990s. Advent of the technology transformed the concept of single colour into multi-colour printing. Though Midway Trading Co doesn’t work for end-customers, there are some whom the company cannot ignore. “Of course, we have been tied up with a number of big corporate clients who changed the face of the region’s signage market in an incredible way,” mentioned Milind. Today, the machine portfolio of the company comprises two DGI printers, a Roland (cut & print) eco-solvent printer but Midway keeps updating every two-three years.

Those signage companies associating with Midway Trading Co are called ‘converters’. And there are two options open for them. First, sign makers can come with their artworks and get printed at Midway Trading Co; second, they can get their works done at the facilities of the company’s associates based in other parts of the region. “So far, we are associated with 150 companies, out of them, around 120 might have been established themselves out of our facility,” asserted Milind. All that triumph of Midway Trading Co would be counted as an outcome of the company’s consistency and efficiency in quality control.

Super Digital Prints
(Porvorim)
Providing the best ever quality outputs

Genesis of Super Digital Prints would date back to the olden days when the company was incepted under the name Glowsign Goa engaging in manual sign making. “We merely equipped with a jigsaw machine to carve anything of signage and displays we produced during that time,” asserted Guru Pawaskar. But the company widened its wings so rapidly with the opening of Super Digital Prints, a new production unit equipped with good-quality printers, such as Mutoh Toucan, two 10 feet Wit Color printers and other finishing machines. “We were the second company having a setup equipped with high-end Mutoh printer in India in 2001,” Guru conveyed proudly.

Super Digital Prints is considered to be the one of the premium signage majors in Goa with state-of-the-art production facility. The company has separate fabrication unit of around 30,000 sq ft in a separate location. “We deliver a complete signage solution as there is no point of clients running from pillar to post for minor jobs like fabrication, installation and others after getting printed the signage,” mentioned Guru. He added that Super Digital Prints is contented to serve its clients in such a way that they could deliver perfect and complete signage solutions. The company boasts of its team of 40 skillful staffs, out of them 10 are engaged exclusively for printing and installation tasks.

Major clients of Super Digital Prints are dwelled in the telecommunication sector. “We have accomplished various major projects in this sector,” said Guru adding that the company did the entire launch project of Idea all cross Maharashtra. The company had installed more than 12,000 sign boards for the telecom giant so widely across from Nagpur to Goa and Colaba in a span of three months. Since then the footprints of Super Digital Prints have been imprinted in every nook and corner of the sector. Today, the major telecom heavyweights in the client list of the company include MTS, Uninor, Vodafone, etc.

Another promising sector where Super Digital Prints has roped in a number of customers is the liquor industry. “Some big players like United Breweries, Seagram, etc in the liquor segment have been associated with us for a long time,” mentioned Guru. In order to navigate other unexplored zones in the market, Guru has strategic expansion plan to adopt new technology like LED and cut letter signs. But he mentioned that it may take some time to unfold the new glow sign activity because a fresh team of professionals should to be inducted for the same.

Art Space
(Panaji)
Making the difference in different ways

There is no different thing that Art Space is doing, but they move quite differently from what others do. This company widely known for its artworks of glow sign boards for both indoor and outdoor applications, interior designs and graphics, nameplates, mementos, cut letters, among others catering to its clients including hotels, hospitals and commercial complexes. “Our first footprint in this industry would date back to the 1990s when we unveiled our production facility with a Gerber Scientific machine,” said Mujtaba Haaziq of Art Space who joined his father’s business in the year 2003.

“We were the only signage company in Goa manufacturing glow signboards using vinyl cutter in the 1990s,” mentioned Mujtaba adding that most of the components of glow signs by that time were transported from Mumbai and Bengaluru. In fact, Art Space was incepted as a shop for photo frame making. But the demands for other kinds of display items like mementos, cut letters and others from its regular clients influenced them to expand their activities to make Art Space a one-stop corner full of specialty signs and display items.

More than 53 different foam sheets are being utilised to produce the string of signage items at Art Space’s state-of-the-art production facility. Finishing touch of the products are done using DuPont car paints. “We combine a lot of processes to mould the end products,” explained Mujtaba adding that the signage items are results of a collective combination of acrylics, MDF, wood or any other rigid materials. Everything that churned out at Art Space is done at its workshop equipped with CNC router, laser engravers, screen printer etc.

Art Space’s clients are not confined only in Goa. Delivering anything covering both indoor and outdoor signs/displays for hotels, hospitals and corporate buildings, many clients from Mumbai and Bengaluru keep rushing to Art Space for the specialty signage items. Giving a highlight of whereto Art Space is moving for a next step development, Mujtaba exclaimed that his company will be coming out with a revamped infrastructure soon. What the company is adopting soon is a complete and updated combo of machineries, such as flex printer, mug printing machine, laser engraver, CNC router and so on...

Bandekar’s Digital imaging
(Margao)
Redefining innovations in newer ways

A flashback of what it inspired Shailesh R Bandekar to establish Bandekar’s Digital Imaging would be dating back to decades of the company’s commercial printing business that his father initiated in the 1960s with a letter press. “As a kid, I would see a lot of my father’s printing activities, which appealed me a lot to adopt it as my future career,” said Shailesh adding that those days were his idea of printing stemmed from. After doing a course in printing technology in Mumbai, Shailesh returned to Goa with a high hope to expand his father’s printing business to new directions. So was how Bandekar’s Digital Imaging born.

Bandekar’s Digital Imaging is moreover a multipurpose printing corner serving over the last 14 years to cater all types of jobs in offset, flex, specialty signs, mementos and others for customers from different walks of life. Apart from the machines like Roland VP 540i and a Mercury router cutter for large-format printing and cutting, the production facility of Bandekar’s Digital Imaging is well equipped with digital presses like Xerox 250 to meet any sort of demands or requirements of its myriad of customers. “Goa’s signage market has changed a lot over the last few years. Be it in printing technology or substrates, people (customers) in Goa are really aware about quality,” said Shailesh. He added that they largely go for eco-solvent printing, which is both eco-friendly and best in texture and resolution in the overall outputs.

Revealing the further update of the company’s machine portfolio, Shailesh admitted that his recent visit to the APPPEXPO held in Shanghai recently had stumbled upon some good solvent and CNC router machines worth adoptable. Customers swarming at the reception area of Bandekar’s Digital Imaging are a mix crowd of different people. Big players among them include ONGC, Goa Tourism, Entertainment Society of Goa, Sesa Goa and some renowned hotels in Goa. “Our works for the hotels are quite challenging as we provide them a complete solution for interior designs and graphics,” mentioned Shailesh. Every client of Bandekar’s Digital Imaging has different demand as per the designs and displays they require. Like ONGC prefers signages made of reflective and block-out media.

Innovation is always a top priority at Bandekar’s Digital Imaging. “Now that the tourist season is knocking on the door, we are planning to introduce a new model of car display system – a vacuum with which one can mount any shape of cut acrylic on the rooftop of the vehicle,” mentioned Shailesh. Such innovative display item is suitable for the place like Goa where tourist fleets play important roles to carry mobile ads. Another big change Bandekar’s Digital Imaging would like to make is LED and acrylic cut signage, aluminum composite paneling by pushing neon and normal flex prints a little back.]]

Empire Digital Prints
(Margao)
Climbing step-by-step upon a new height

Success of Empire Digital Prints has not been earned overnight. The story of the beginning of this PSP is indeed a narration of a struggle faced by Dilip Kumar, proprietor of the company who once hailed from Kerala for a business firm in Goa some years ago. However, it was not that Dilip just chanced upon the printing industry for a brand new business to unfold. He has a deep rooted family background of the industry as his father was a popular artist who had been known widely for manual art works for cinema posters, wall murals, shop signs and others. Empire Digital Prints is considerably a bloodline of the age-old profession of his father followed by Dilip.

“Printing industry of Goa was in a nascent stage as it badly needed to be improved both in terms of advancement in technology and service,” explicated Dilip recollecting the days when he started Empire Digital Prints without a single machine, but received orders and rushed to good facilities based in Mumbai and Bengaluru to get the jobs done. “It was really a tough task for me because I could not meet various deadlines and lost confidence that had built up between me and my clients,” he mentioned. Then the only vision that Dilip kept visualizing in every moment was nothing but his own production unit equipped with good machineries.

Dilip got married in the year 1997. His wife Priya has been a guiding light in his business as her family played a pivotal role to invest good amount of money on machineries and others when he unveiled Empire Digital Prints. “First we purchased a small machine for sticker cutting then came along a Wit Color printer from Siare Technologies, which is quite capable to meet speedy deliveries and quality outputs,” asserted Dilip. Then no looking back at the troublesome past, Empire Digital Prints set up its own empire of magnified business and large client list.

Latest addition to Empire Digital Prints’ portfolio includes a Challenger printer, which is designed with greater clarity and speed. “Of course, we are looking ahead to add another Challenger machine soon,” said Dilip while talking about the company’s next move to revamp the existing infrastructure. But the big thing yearning to be equipped in the company’s facility is a UV machine. “We are planning to adopt the UV printer positively by 2013 because real estate (interior graphics) is my focus for future expansion,” proclaimed Dilip. Voila! He is confident to say that Empire Digital Prints’ current turnover growing by approximately 40 percent soon!

Savita Arts
(Panaji)
Creating room for creative signage

Creativity has no bound when it comes to creating innovative signage! This is what Savita Arts would like to prove with its creative works on specialty signages. This Rs 40 lakh company is a brainchild of Vikas P Kalghatgi, who passed out from Goa College of Fine Art and navigating for newer concepts to be introduced in the region’s signage market. “Many people in the 1970s headed to Mumbai for jobs but the time has changed that culture as the regions like Goa have the same opportunities to exploit,” said Vikas. In fact, he wished to yield something new to enhance the signage industry of this coastal city as well as Konkan Belt, Khed and Singur where the company stretches footprints across.

Savita Arts engages in fabrication works and LED signs since the company does little with flex prints and others. “Last two years of our establishment in Goa has brought in a lot of achievements for us,” remarked Vikas adding, “Though we couldn’t be the ‘king’ in this field, we are among a few who do this kind of jobs in Goa.” He agreed with the notion that LED signs would set a brighter future of specialty signs, adding new attractions to the existing conventional signage. Now that many people hardly understand the advantages of this new-age technology, LED has a wide scope to make a lot of differences.

“Our main activity involves with 3D letters and other illuminative signages made of acrylic sheets, ACP, PVC foamsheets, etc,” mentioned Vikas. In his attempt to tap the growing opportunity of 3D signages in Goa, he explained that this world famous tourist city is the right place to play around with this innovative signage. Of course, LED signs and cut letter displays in Goa have bigger scope as casinos and hotels are abundant in the city. “So far, we have been associated with Crown Casino and some leading hotels to provide a varied range of LED signs and cut letter displays,” asserted Vikas. He also mentioned Tanishq Jwellery as the first and foremost client with whom Savita Arts unfolded its first LED works a few years back.

Till date, Savita Arts has done great LED jobs for a number of big corporate clients including HP World, Bhojan, Hindustand Petroleum, LIC, Bank of Baroda, State Bank of India, etc. In order to meet the increasing demands for newer concepts and volume of works, the company is planning to gear up its infrastructure and services. “As of today, we outsource almost everything of printing and cutting since we haven’t installed any machinery except manual jigsaws,” explained Vikas adding that he recently switched upon some good machines worth adoptable during the recent APPEXPO in Shanghai.

Rachna Graphics
(Panaji)
Pushing themselves towards specialty signages

Yet another PSP in Goa moving forward to get into the new realm of specialty signage is Rachna Graphics. “In fact, we aim to set up a platform wherefrom any customer can garb anything right from prints, 3D signs to all sorts of items under our roof,” explained Sanjay K Upadhyaya of Rachna Graphics adding that a new facility to carve LED signs, cut letters, brass letters, etc would be an added feature soon in their Panaji production unit, which is now equipped with a Mimaki JV3-160 SP and Flora LJ320 SE (Spectra printheads). Also, this Rs one-crore company has a separate workshop with a CNC router machine.

Established in the year 2004 with the adoption of a five feet DGI machine, which subsequently upgraded to 10 feet machine of the same brand in 2006, overall activities of Rachna Graphics have been involved vastly in multi tasks of jobs for different signage items. Be it in-shop branding, flex printing, router cutting or others, the company is a one-stop shop with all these items and activities for a mix clientele. “More than 50 percent of our customers are from the local surroundings who are just walk-in buyers coming for any kinds of jobs, for examples: prints for weddings, cultural events, carnivals, festive occasions, anniversaries, birthday parties, etc designed particularly on sun boards or other printing materials.

“But it’s not that we are here to hook some seasonal local customers. Rachna Graphics is a registered vendor for TATA Teleservices and Airtel ever since our establishment,” mentioned Sanjay. As mentioned above, what is stored in the company’s next step plan would include a strategic move into a new domain of specialty signages. “Glow signs made of foam sheets, acrylics, ACP… are something we are looking forward to work upon,” explained Sanjay adding that all these new illuminative display items along with cut letters (of foam sheets) are now increasingly popular in Goa.

Referring the advantages of LED signs, Sanjay explained that the glow signs/cut signs are durable and it would create special attractions, rather appealing than any normal flex board or others. Apart from its lifespan, it serves in both day and night and even in the harsh climatic conditions like heavy rain and torrid sun. “For these kinds of signages, we need to use a little bit of creativity to play with,” explained Sanjay adding that Rachna Graphics is all set to take on this new path as the creative team of the company is getting ready to make it happened in a big way.

Bhawani Sticker Palace
(Panaji)
Supplying everything of everyone’s requirement

After all talks about biggies engaging in printing, fabrication, sign making and others in Goa, here comes the turn to mention a bit about an important player without whom the region’s signage market would be incomplete to a certain extent. Here the mention is about Bhawani Sticker Palace, a media distributor with a wide range designed for different quality prints. RM Goswami of Bhawani Sticker Palace mentioned that they maintain varieties to meet all kind of demands from different market corners. He added, “It is quite obvious that companies in these days are very attentive of high-quality materials; but there are still customers looking for economical media for some specific applications; so we keep both varieties,” explained Goswami.

Recollecting the early days of Bhawani Sticker Palace that alighted in Goa as a shop dealing with some signage machineries, Goswami shared that their business had nothing to do with printing media but some machineries. “We used to deal with i-cut machines, but the business couldn’t get clicked on the way we expected, so we eventually wrapped it up and went for another option – media distributorship,” narrated Goswami. He added that they never looked back after that as the company’s current business is moving on fruitfully.

The product shelve of Bhawani Sticker Palace is bulged with a wide array of medias of different qualities. Some of the high-end brands that pulled a huge crowd of PSPs working for corporate clients in Goa include 3M, ORACLE, LG... to mention a few. “As I mentioned before that we believe in varieties to gratify everyone turning up at our doorsteps,” said Goswami adding that other low-cost materials in the shop are still in demand in the market.

What are stocking at Bhawani Sticker Palace also include other signage materials, such as PVC sheets, foam sheets, acrylics, polycarbonates, ACP panels, vinyl and most importantly radium. Though there is vision to expand the company’s wings to other parts of the country, Bhawani Sticker Palace will stick a while in this coastal city of sandy beaches till it gains new height for business expansion.

Abhi’s Sign Lab
(Panaji)
Delivering complete signage solutions

Seven years ago there was nothing much about Abhi’s Sign Lab. The company was just an ordinary signboard maker like many of its kinds mushrooming around Panaji. But the company reincarnated into a new avatar following the adoption of a couple of large-format printers to push its business towards signage printing around four years back. “We are happy to work with the ColorJet printers with Konica Minolta printheads purchased from Apsom Technologies, Mumbai,” said Ravi Kumar of Abhi’s Sign Lab.

Though the company has been involved with a number of clients from different industrial clusters, many from the liquor segment formed major part of Abhi’s Sign Lab’s clientele. “I think clients in this sector (liquor) are quite co-operative and worth working with,” mentioned Ravi indicating the company’s mutual relationship with its customers. Seagram is one such player in the sector which has built up confidence with Abhi’s Sign Lab for years. UB Group is yet another heavyweight from the sector occupying a big position in the company’s client list.

Well, liquor sector is not the end of the story when it comes to counting on where Abhi’s Sign Lab goes to rope in big clients. “Like many PSPs do in the industry we take part in the league of people who hook telecom giants for big projects,” mentioned Ravi. Spice Mobile and others in the telecommunication sector are considerably some of the leading companies in the company’s client list. Others in the list would definitely include those walk-in customers buzzing at the company’s reception all day long.

What next for Abhi’s Sign Lab? Answering to this question, Ravi admitted that the company’s facility will be equipped with a Roland flatbed printer soon. “We are planning to revamp our infrastructure as well as the manpower in near future,” he mentioned. His words of appreciation for everyone involving in Abhi’s Sign Lab’s business acknowledged his staff as well as Apsom Technologies for being a responsible distributor.

AD Spot
(Panaji)
Serving everybody from every level

Having been known for its excellence in vehicle numberplate making, AD Spot did a little about signage before its inception as a sign shop in the year 2004. Ishwar Borkar, proprietor of AD Spot still boasts of being a capable artist who makes motorcycles, cars and other vehicles fall in line at his shop for numberplate designs and writing, which are done manually but in a perfect way. But when the activities got slightly sidelined after the shop eventually engaged in digital large-format printing with the installations of a couple of printers, viz a Caldron and an HP 8000. But when there is any opportunity turned up for nameplate writing, Ishwar would wholeheartedly accept the assignment!

“AD Spot is now engaging in two verticals, indoor graphics and outdoor signs,” mentioned Ishwar adding that the clients he has been associated with so far are of all types at all levels. Of course, AD Spot is considerably one of the many PSPs in the region, which is quite flexible in dealing with its clients. Clientele of the company is ranged from the one coming for one sq ft print to those ordering 10,000 sq ft hoardings. “I don’t demarcate clients as per their works or paying capabilities. All of them are treated similarly by us,” remarked Ishwar.

Major entries in the client list of AD Spot are of the local walk-in customers. “I enjoy working with the people in my locality who knocked on my doors for any kinds of signage/graphics,” expressed Ishwar. But the big corporate giants are not in direct touch with AD Spot because most of the works of these heavyweights are assigned only through ad agencies. And it may take some time for AD Spot to walk down the roads to direct marketing.

Next plan of the company towards the infrastructure enhancement is adoption of laser engraving machine. “I see LED as the future of this industry in Goa. I like to do something creative that has never been created till date,” asserted Ishwar. He added that creative designs and techniques in glow signs are the most demanded items in the contemporary market. His ultimate ideology is that the survival in the industry is all about knowing the market environment.

Exemplar Strategic Solutions
(Panaji)
Coining the complete job of signage and beyond

They first help customers create new brands! Then their mission continues as a journey starting from logo design, signage and graphics designing, fabrication and installation to give an holistic solution. Task of Exemplar Strategic Solutions is considered to be a perfect solution that augments the jobs of many sign makers. “We tie up with a number of sign makers across the region who could practically execute our concepts and designs into reality,” said Dattaprasad Shetkar, Partner & Head – Strategy & Creative, Exemplar Strategic Solutions. He added that Exemplar involves with a number of clients in select segments like hospitality, restaurants, retail stores and public events.

“When we create a brand, it’s our responsibility to develop all collaterals of the brand, be it interior displays, posters, exterior signage and so on,” mentioned Dattaprasad adding that the quality maintenance is also a main priority in the process. Most of the prints used in Exemplar’s jobs are churned out on eco-solvent and UV printers, which only could meet the desired texture and quality in prints. The company has completed a number of good projects in Goa, Mumbai and Bengaluru. “We recently worked for a newly opened four star hotel at Vasco Da Gama in Goa for which we coined everything right from the name, logo design, naming of their restaurants, outdoor signage, etc,” remarked Dattaprasad.

A few prominent clients of Exemplar would include big names like Casino Carnivals in Goa. “And the retail segment is one such area where we would like to focus,” asserted Dattaprasad. He added, “We help retailers communicate ad messages to thier customers.” Magnificent works of Exemplar in the retail/departmental store zone are evident mainly in festive seasons. Theme-based store brandings an internal communication during Ganesh Chaturthi, Diwali and Christmas in Goa are some regular attractions that Exemplar provides annually to its clients in the retail sector. “But the retail sector in Goa is quite small as we have just one shopping mall here, so we are looking forward to explore others parts of the country,” mentioned Dattaprasad. Another hot spot where Exemplar has been associating for years is real estate segment.

Since Goa has very unique nature of environment, Exemplar team always keeps this fact in their mind whenever they go for a new project. “Of course, we cannot pick up any usual signage theme or material when it comes to an execution in Goa,” remarked Dattaprasad adding that recommendation for materials to be used in the signage should be of good quality as it should be totally protected from harsh rain, torrid heat, fungus and moisture. All these factors matter a lot in Goa. But there is a strategic plan for Exemplar moving beyond Goa. Dattaprasad admitted the company would be heading to south and west India sooner than later.

Veer LED World
(Porvorim)
Growing to get on higher in glow sign front

Glow signs go great in Goa! This is what Veer LED World conveys to its customers looking for innovative signage in this coastal city. This company was incepted as a PSP earlier under the name Sign Seal. However, after seeing the growing potential in the glow sign segment in the region, Raj Bhosale – proprietor of the firm, transformed its overall business into the activities totally involved with LED displays. “We still work creatives based on flex materials, but not the ordinary flex signs as it is mounted with acrylics on top of it,” said Raj adding that LED technology is the major reason of their existence in the signage market of Goa.

Concerning the reason behind the opting of LED, Raj explained that the technology is quite suitable for various applications in the harsh climatic condition of Goa. “Apart from the climate-friendly nature of the technology, LED signs are flexible to create a huge range of innovative signs in different manners for many in diverse segments,” explained Raj. He added that neon signs are for cold region as it could not last in the hot and humid region like Goa and flex prints spoilt easily in the peak rainy season, so is the choice ultimately ticked LED. Of course, LED technology could have been more advantageous in innovation, creativity and durability.

Veer LED World has roped in a number of big corporate clients over a short span of its establishment. Kingfishers and Bacardi are some of the giant companies in the liquor segment for whom Veer LED World has done great glow signs around the city. “Apart from the multinational companies in the corporate sector, we have big deals with a number of local clients,” said Raj adding that many shops, showrooms and retail outlets in Porvorim have formed major part of the company’s client list. He further explained that these local clients are quite helpful in heralding Veer LED World’s activities through mouth to mouth publicity.

Raj is very positive about the growing prospects of LED signs in the region. He admitted that the company is looking ahead to upgrade its infrastructure to new height to meet the increasing demands for innovative items in the segment. Veer LED World is approached by some clients for an innovative item that could be a big launch at the company soon. The product is nothing but an LED embedded portable food menu, which will be illuminated by battery. Goa is the place where innovations in glow signage have not bound for expansion. But the future of Veer LED World is heading to other places beyond Goa to exploit newer prospects in new areas.
