New Delhi-based Pashupati Enterprises is manufacturer, exporter and importer of a premium range of indoor and outdoor promotional advertisement products, which come under its increasingly popular brand ‘Grand Tambu’. PRABHJOT SETHI of Pashupati Enterprises talks to SIGN & GRAPHICS about the creation of the brand, wide-ranging product line and the
company’s age-old root in the signage industry.
The partner at Pashupati Enterprises has a rich experience of over 50 years when they started the business of supplying Tents to para- military forces like BSF and CRPF. After that, they diversified activity into the supply of luxury tents to resorts and hotels. Then 1995 was a landmark year for Pashupati Enterprises for they launched Canopies in India, perhaps the first arrival of the product in the country. The year also marked the company’s formal entry into the signage/advertising market.“LML” was one of our first few important corporate clients then,”recalls Prabhjot.
The name Pashupati is derived from Shree Pashupatinath Temple in Nepal where the company in their earlier years had some good clients. The current product portfolio of the company consists of Canopies, Tents, Roll up Stands, Promotional Flags, Gazebos, Promo Tables, Umbrellas, Resort Tents and others. The company boasts of two manufacturing plants in New Delhi—one for advertising products and the other for resort tents.
“Some of the products in our portfolio are imported, while the rest are manufactured in our own plants,” mentions Prabhjot, adding, “Our canopies are manufactured indigenously in our plant. Similarly, promo tables in the portfolio are all assembled in our plant and produced under our own brand.”
The current product portfolio available under the Grand Tambu brand of Pashupati Enterprises is a complete combo of indoor-outdoor advertising systems. The portfolio consists of a range of Canopies, Display Tents, Gazebos, Umbrellas, Promo Tables, Large Frame Tents, Roll Up Stands, Banner Stands, Catalogue Stands, Flags for Outdoor Advertising, LED Slim Light Frames and Backdrop Stands, etc. “As on today we supply our canopies to more than 500 corporate clients across India,” mentions Prabhjot.
Prabhjot says they rather wish to be known as Grand Tambu in the industry with Pashupati remains the place or address where the brand belongs. “Grand Tambu is not simply our brand but our image today. We have a Grand Tambu team of highly experienced professionals who strive to ensure the best quality products by using the finest quality materials available in shortest possible time,” he asserts.
Pashupati Enterprises has its own in-house quality control team in both their production plants where they inspect everything at every level. “It is not only the printing but also the other secondary tasks like stitching, finishing and packaging that we carefully check and inspect during our production process,”says Prabhjot. The printing division of the company is equipped with two Roland eco-solvent printers, ColorJet Polo Turbo solvent printer and Roll to Roll Sublimation printer.
“As using of flex is creating havoc everywhere and it is being banned in many states across the country, we are now planning to keep this material away and switching to ‘green’ media only, such as fabric. But when it comes to environment friendliness, the concern is not only about media but also the printing technology. Water-based sublimation printing is eco-friendly,” explains Prabhjot. He observes that all the solvent printers running today will probably be out of sight in the next five years or so. In this way, all the non-green printers in the printing division of Pashupati Enterprises will be replaced by sublimation / alternative systems available.
He conclusively says they strongly feel that the future of the industry will revolve around soft signage.
