Coca-Cola creates spectacular building illumination



On the occasion of its 125th anniversary, Coca-Cola decorated its Atlanta headquarters with a spectacular building illumination that could be seen from all across the city. The global soft drink giant partnered with Obscura Digital to illuminate the 26 storeys building into a giant projection screen that displayed images of the company’s advertising over the years. The illumination covered 2,10,000 sq ft and used 45 industrial strength projectors to display one million lumens of light.



Encyclomedia launches McDonald’s breakfast offering campaign



Indian outdoor company Encyclomedia designed artwork for a building wrap carried out on a building in Johannesburg’s Sandton, corner of Katherine Street and 5th Avenue, to unfold a campaign to increase awareness of the breakfast offering and drive sale of McDonald’s.

The wrap executed in a size of more than 1,000 sq m site has a key message – Quick and Easy on the Go! – heralding to every passers-by.



Kit Kat ‘bench’ campaign bags top OH! Awards



Nestle bagged the coveted overall category accolade as well as the street furniture category prize for its Kit Kat ‘bench’ advert at the annual ‘OH! Awards’ held recently in Johannesburg. The confectionery company proved that its creative execution for outdoor media space had a good impact in its message. The Kit Kat campaign satisfied every criteria set by the judges.



Transparent digital façcade at Times Square, NY



A next generation media firm A2aMEDIA, which designs, installs and operates energy-efficient LED media displays, installs a large-scale digital display on the Port Authority Bus Terminal in Times Square, New York City. The display equips with Mediamesh technology, an exciting and proven digital motion graphic product that integrates seamlessly into the terminal’s existing architecture. Through a partnership with Garage-Media, A2aMEDIA installs and operates the display to provide a long-term aesthetic upgrade to the terminal, and exciting advertising opportunities for a variety of regional and national businesses.



‘Stripping Fat Man’ wins gold



Among the hundreds of acclaimed creative entries from all over the world, recently gathered to celebrate the 52nd Annual CLIO Awards at the Museum of Natural History in New York, Stripping Fat Man Billboard by Y&R Not Just Film, Amsterdam bagged gold. The billboard ad selected for the prestigious awards was entered under the ‘Out of Home’ category.



Amphibious billboards hit beaches of South America



Giving advertisers a chance to reach massive crowds on the beach, bbi Display Systems launches its amphibious billboards – 24x14 ft in size, an ambient medium for advertisement. These inflatable signs are pulled by boats along the summer tourism town of Salina. bbi Display Systems, the patent holder and global distributor of the amphibious inflatable signs, has reached agreements with Grupo Big to exclusively represent the product in several South American markets including Chile, Argentina and Peru.



Ponte Building changes to Vodafone’s flaming red



Skyline of Johannesburg has changed its colour as Vodacom’s familiar blue landmark site on the top of Ponte Building converted to Vodafone’s flaming red. Airport Media’s flagship site underwent a facelift at the hands of Flighting Boyz, one of South Africa’s leading outdoor media flighting companies. This massive site, the largest in Africa and in fact the southern hemisphere, was ‘work in progress’ for a total of eight weeks with more than one tonne of paint, 7.9 km of LED lights.



Nestlé ice-cream trucks get a fresh look in SA



South Africa’s favourite ice cream brands have to be seen on newly branded refrigerated delivery vehicles. Nestlé Ice Cream recently completed the re-branding of its entire fleet of distributor delivery vehicles as part of a large-scale branding exercise to update the look and feel of its vehicles. Nestlé Ice Cream utilised Graffiti’s unique G-Frame mechanism for their all-new looks. This new PVC graphic tensioning system is a specifically designed medium that allows for multiple graphic changes on regular basis.



Graffiti gives fresh look to Abacus Gardens vehicles



Vehicle branding expert Graffiti recently gave garden landscaping and maintenance company, Abacus Gardens, a fresh new look with the re-branding of 19 of their working vehicles. The fact that the company has so many vehicles on the roads transporting gardening crews each day, providing them with the readymade opportunity to have their own unique moving billboards. So the company recently upgraded their fleet to ensure a larger canopy for the safety and comfort of its workers and this provided them with an opportunity to refresh the branding and gave the brand a bold new look.



Branded mini cabs for Dial Direct Pothole Brigade



In order to further generate awareness and encourage consumer participation in Dial Direct’s forward thinking, pothole repair initiative The Pothole Brigade, transit media experts Graffiti recently branded mini cab vehicles in the bold orange Dial Direct Pothole Brigade branding. The Dial Direct Pothole Brigade was originally launched as a pilot project with the official launch by Dial Direct Insurance in partnership with Lead SA, the Johannesburg Roads Agency and the Gauteng Provincial Department of Roads and Transport.
