So far, FESPA Digital events have brought up new perspectives in the wide-format sector. Attracting 9,682 visitors the event this year held from May 12-14, 2009 at Amsterdam comprising 300 exhibitors reflected an overriding optimism of the wide-format domain and a long-term vision for printers looking forward to find out how product and service innovation and investment in technology will sustain their business growth.

FESPA Digital 2009 extensively underlined the printers’ ongoing needs to take advantage of the continued technical innovation in digital wide-format printing as well as their clear focus on exploring new applications and business models to fuel commercial success. Leading wide-format majors at the show included AGFA Graphics, Atlantic Zeiser, Durst, EFI, Epson, FUJIFILM Sericol, Gandinnovations, HP, Inca Digital, Konica Minolta, Kornit Digital Ltd, Oce Display Graphics, XAAR and others. FESPA managing director Frazer Chesterman said, “Early feedback showed that most exhibitors hit or exceeded their targets, meeting existing customers and new prospects, conducting meaningful business discussions and reporting concrete sales successes.”



Commenting on 73 percent of total visitors from outside the Netherlands, Frazer stated that pre-registrations to FESPA Digital 2009 were exceptionally high, but the fact that nearly 10,000 individual printers acted on this interest and made a firm commitment to invest time attending the event is the real achievement. “EFI brought more VUTEk, Rastek and software innovations than any other previous editions because we believe that investing in innovation is the best way we can help our customers win through the economic downturn,” said Paul Cripps, MD and vice president, EFI EMEA.

“The exceptional footfall and buoyant mood exceeded expectations of the exhibitors,” said Frazer. In the similar context, François Martin, marketing director, HP Graphic Solutions Business remarked “FESPA Digital proved to be the perfect venue to demonstrate new HP Scitex FB7500 printer, which attracted interest from many large print service providers.”
