Astounding interior graphic wraps
of a landmark Dutch shopping centre
Markthal in Rotterdam (The Netherlands) is an all-in-one
shopping, working, and living space that sits underneath a
40-meter-high arch made of natural stone and glass windows,
covering an area the size of two large soccer fields. ‘Horn of Plenty’
by artist Arno Coenen features images of oversized produce that
line the interior walls of the mixed-use development of the building.
Designed by Rotterdam-based architectural firm MVRDV with
property developer Provast and architect Winy Maas, the indoor
market is wrapped using graphics printed on 4,000 coated aluminum
panels each measuring 1.5x1.5 m. Individually designed by the shop’s
research department, the panels are lightfast, bendable, and can be
cut into any desirable shape.
Antalis helps transform
seafront luxury of apartments
Coala
Supertack
is 96
micron high tack
self-adhesive PVC
for hard-to-stick
surfaces. Using this
material, supplied
by Antalis UK, a dull and unwelcoming reception of a
complex of seafront luxury apartments in England has
been transformed into a striking, tropical statement
piece guaranteed to make a lasting impact on visitors.
As Coala Supertack can be printed using solvent, latex
or UV inks, stunning graphics used in fabrication of
the reception lobby of the seafront luxury apartments
were churned on HP Latex 360, with no need for
additional varnishing or finishing techniques.
Specialised 53 ft graphics on mobile refrigeration truck
What it moved fans
during the recent
National Hockey
League (NHL) was a bit
beyond games as an ice
rink for the California’s
second outdoor hockey game
impressed and pleased fans.
The NHL’s specialised 53-
foot mobile refrigeration unit
was ferried on a four-day trip
from Toronto to Santa Clara
as the truck travelled south to
Texas and Los Angeles before
driving up to the Bay Area
because of the threat of snow.
The smartly branded truck
was wrapped promoting NHL.
Adshel rolls out a network of
3,000 beacons across Australia
Leading outdoor major Adshel keeps
rolling out a network of 3,000
beacons across Australia. Beacons
are small, wireless devices that communicate
with nearby smartphones through Bluetooth.
Shopping centre retailers have been adopting
the technology as a form of push marketing
to attract passing customers. It will be the
country’s first, large-scale, data-rich outdoor
advertising product. Adshel’s beacon network
will initially take a ‘Listen and Learn’ approach
to build customer and advertiser insights. The
network will ultimately give advertisers with
beacon-enabled smartphone apps the ability
to send geo-targeted marketing to consenting
customers when they’re in the area.

YCD Solution creates 360o LED
display experiment in Israel
Digital media solution provider YCD Multimedia has installed more than
300 video screens ranging in size from 42 to 65 inches throughout a
Shufersal shopping complex in Israel where housed 26 movie theatres.

Twickenham Stadium sported
new look to host Rugby World Cup
As Great Britain hosting the
Rugby World Cup later this year,
Twickenham Stadium, which is
known to be the home of English rugby,
will be the focal point for world media and
rugby fans from around the globe. Keeping
this in mind, Service Graphics, one of the
UK’s leading providers of marketing and
communications solutions, has updated
rather the stadium’s drab concrete exterior.
And the result was a series of vertical
banners printed on KAPA tech, supplied by
Antalis, which were fixed onto 51 vertical
columns that circumnavigate the stadium.
This immediately transformed the building’s
façade to create a dramatic visual identity
that has since become a permanent feature
of the stadium. The challenge in the project
was to find a substrate that would be
strong and durable enough to withstand the
elements, while being light enough in weight
for more flexible handling and installation
onto the 32 M high pillars.
