New R & D director for Xaar

Cambridge-based Xaar plc, the inkjet printing technology group, has appointed Ramon Borrell (43) as their Research & Development director and director of the company.

He is a Spanish citizen and joins Xaar from Hewlett-Packard (HP). While resigning, he was the senior new product development manager within HP’s large format printing division, which develops large format inkjet printing machines for sale worldwide.

Steve Temple, currently technical director, will be stepping down from the board and from full time employment with the company at the end of September but will continue to advise Xaar as a consultant. He has been with Xaar since its inception in 1990 and has been the principal architect of its world-leading inkjet technology. Under his technology leadership, Xaar has registered more than 90 patents.
