ColorJet India takes the print world by storm – Made in India machine debuts in China
ColorJet India (CjI) is a name to reckon
with in the commercial graphics industry.
As a pioneer CjI has designed, developed
and delivered the first Indian commercial grade
solvent super-wide digital printer. Different
regions of the world have different
requirements and different regulations. CjI is
sensitive to these issues like environment. The
ColorJet is designed for operator safety and
to be ROHS compliant and meet country
specific safety standards. For now, the ColorJet
is CE approved and is functional for other
certifications.
Recently, CjI became the first Indian company
to participate in the 15th Shanghai Int’l
Ad, Print, Pack, Paper Expo (APPPEXPO
2007), which was held between 3-6 July 2007
at the Shanghai New International Expo
Centre, in China.
ColorJet India has shattered all barriers and
become the first Indian machine to go abroad
despite skepticism. The range comprising
ColorJet Pro, ColorJet Lite, ColorJet Sprinter
have been very well received. Following the
success in the domestic market, ColorJet
India is taking these ‘made-in-India’ machines
to an international platform. The machines
have generated a lot of interest especially
from countries in the Middle East, S E Asia,
Africa and Europe. The industry anticipates
better support from an Indian company visà-
vis Chinese companies and ColorJet India
is geared to deliver. Many partners and
prospective technology partners visited the
Indian presence in this international
exhibition. With a precedence of fourteen
successful events, this year’s exhibition has
grown to be one of the largest global
advertising technology trade fairs. It attracted
more than 1,100 participating companies
covering an area of 120,000 sqm and
attracting over 100,000 trade buyers across
China, Asia and rest of the world.
ColorJet Pro is an intelligent, high-end print
system. This state-of-the-art machine provides
a lot of flexibility to the end user. The unique
Optimized Print Engine (OPE ) is the
intellectual property of ColorJet and has been
developed incorporating the latest technology
in image printing. The use of a high power
processor ensures a dramatic reduction in wait
time between the swathes for replenishment
of print data to the heads.
The system comes equipped with an
embedded system based on P4 64 bit
architecture, standard Ethernet 100BASET
and USB interface, real time OS built around
Fedora Linux, LVDS; technology deployed in
data transmission to the heads, implementing
ANSI/TIA/EIA-644-A recommendations and
capable of operating at 644 kbps amongst
other features.
ColorJet Lite having functionally configuration
of 4/8/12 XJ 128/360 plus heads, colours
supported on printer comes either in 4 or 6
colours, easy to handle and efficient user
interface, dual media feed rollers for
providing ease of loading the media, and
many other features.
The new ColorJet Sprinter is a user-friendly
machine, technologically sound and geared to
perfection. This machine comes with spectra
print heads, precision negative pressure
generator for the Ink system, very rugged and
stable printer frame, anti-wrinkle feed rollers,
rocking dual roller pinch system and other
features to ensure a unique print experience.
Armed with more than 100 man-years
of experience, the design team has distilled
its in-house knowledge base: built over
the years through interaction with clients
in field. The multi-talented ColorJet India
team consists of young people with
extensive experience in the digital print
industry, experienced designers on
mechanical systems and bright sparks for
embedded systems.
With over 250 machines in field, in over
the past 18 months (backed by an extensive
network of support engineers), the
Colorjet is a field proven and now a
de-facto standard for rugged performance
