AGFA Graphics launches new Jeti Titan S and HS

Built on the success of its Jeti Titan series of UV-curable wide-format printers, AGFA Graphics announces the launch of Jeti Titan S and Jeti Titan HS true flatbed UV-inkjet printers. The new printers combine exceptional print quality and high productivity and the robust build engines incorporate Ricoh Gen 5 printheads with 1,280 nozzles. Jeti Titan S is equipped with one row of print heads, yet is field upgradeable to two rows, thus becoming a Jeti Titan HS and doubling the productivity level.

Both these newly unpacked models were debuted at C!Print 2014 in France. The seven picolitre droplet size makes it possible to achieve photorealistic image quality with fine text down to 4pt positive and negative. The Jeti Titan S & HS are ideal for high-value work like POP viewed at close range or for the high-level art, fashion & cosmetics markets.

A family of new Sl8te hybrid
and flatbed printers from Gandy Digital

Gandy Digital introduces a family of entry-level Sl8te hybrid and flatbed printers viz. Sl8te Hybrid and Sl8te True Flatbed which are equipped with high-quality Ricoh Gen 4, 6 pico-litre printheads. Sl8te Hybrid comes in widths of 1.6 m, 2.6 and 2.2 m allowing users print using extension tables or roll-to-roll options. And Sl8te True Flatbed comes in print size of 1.6 m x 2.6 m and 2.6 m x 3 m with pin registration and sectional vacuum options to hold uneven materials flat and technology of manual roll-to-roll attachment option is also available on this printer.

This newly unpacked family of Sl8te UV printers come with combination of 10 to 20 Ricoh Gen 4 printheads. These printers are designed to provide possibility of four-colour, white and clear varnish or six-colour for smoother image. Using 16 printheads in a four-colour mode caters sharp prints at 35 sq m/hr. Sl8te UV printers have unique and convenient features like auto material thickness sensing which makes easy change of materials upto thickness of 65 mm on Hybrid model and 76 mm on Flatbed model.

Eco-friendly ‘Earthinks’ screen printing inks introduced

Solar Inks, specialist in inks for flexographic and screen printing, launches Earthinks, a range of environment-friendly water-based flexographic and screen printing inks that it considers to be the most natural solution in the contemporary market. Earthinks ink range offers sustainability benefits as well as high-performance and are a cost-effective alternative to standard inks.

Earthinks are made from natural ingredients including soy, starch, sugars, dextrin, tree resin, cellulose and other polysaccharides. Natural waxes are used to replace standard petroleum-based synthetics, and natural oils are used to defoam instead of mineral oils. Earthinks are glycol and silicone-free, contain no heavy metals and have near-zero VOC levels.

Direct Color Systems unpacks new small-format UV LED printer

HVG Graphics launches new outdoor floor graphic

Year-end 2013 witnessed a big launch in the direct print floor graphics system domain. It was Savanna from HVG Graphics Media. Designed specifically for exterior applications where high slip resistance is needed, Savanna has been tested under CSIRO conditions and exceeds industry standard in outdoor applications.

According to HVG Graphics, newly launched Savanna sticks aggressively on a number of dry, smooth to light textured surfaces such as concrete, pavers, tiles and bitumen making it ideal for short to medium duty advertising campaigns where durability and high slip resistance is required.

G-Floor Media sets to revolutionise customised flooring

Soyang Europe introduces G-Floor to take the flooring market by storm. The company is confident that the new floor graphic product will completely change traditional perceptions of what is possible in the field of customised flooring. ColorGATE RIP Version 8 now available

Version 8 of the ColorGATE RIP software family is now available to all end users. The new versions of the Productionserver, Filmgate, Plategate and Proofgate can be characterised by their high degree of flexibility and scalability. Further, all these versions are future-proof ensured by the Value Pack software maintenance programme. Additionally, the Container+, the Linearization Assistant, the Profiler Module PFM and the CutServer have been updated with new functions.

Using this ColorGate RIP Version 8, the total amount of ink with ink saver can be reduced by up to 30 percent without a visible loss of quality, which also means a reduction of the total printing costs. New scratch-free blackboard film from ASLAN

ASLAN releases a new scratch-free blackboard film which is manufactured for stunning applications. This newly introduced ASLAN CR 62 complements the company’s range of memoboard films. On this film, writings with chalk can be wiped off easily with a wet cloth without leaving residues. A highly scratch resistant surface ensures that no ghosting or shadows remain even after long-term usage.

Canon introduces two imagePROGRAF
models for in-house poster and POS

Canon Europe recently introduced two 6-colour, large format imagePROGRAF models for the easy in-house production of posters and POS collaterals. Especially designed for the retail and hospitality markets, these newly unpacked large-format Canon printers are positioned between the 5-colour dye ink CAD models and the 8- and 12-colour photo quality and production print models.

These newly launched two models join imagePROGRAF range – iPF6400SE and iPF8400SE and can produce an A1-sized poster on coated paper in just one minute in ‘Fast Mode’, and offer a low cost of investment and ownership as they’ve been developed specifically for entry level users. A key feature of the new models is the 6-colour LUCIA-EX ink-set, which, using pigment rather than dye inks, ensures the longevity of the printed images on display and is compatible with a wide range of media.

Multiscam upgrades V-Series with new CNC plasma kit

V Series of MultiCam is designed for companies looking for maximum value in a CNC plasma machine. It is ideal for both entry level as well as experienced manufacturers. Caldera enhances verifier tool

Print Standard Verifier, Caldera’s tool that ensures standards conformity across printing processes, has been enhanced with the addition of support for G7. Published by international organisation IDEAlliance, G7 integration is the latest step in Caldera’s continuing mission to help PSPs achieve a certified process standard and is available for users of GrandRIP+, GrandTEX+, VisualRIP+ and VisualTEX+ immediately.

G7 device-independent process uses a neutral print density curve to create faithful comparisons and enable shared appearance of output when cross-process colour management is unavailable. Caldera simplifies the complex process of hitting these standards by handling conformity calculations within EasyMedia in the RIP suite.

Condé unpacks new DyeTrans SG 7100DN dye-sub printer

Condé Systems introduces new DyeTrans SG 7100DN inkjet sublimation printer, which is an updated version of the DyeTrans GX 7000 and GX e7700N printers. SG 7100DN continues the tradition of providing powerful performance to the dye-sub industry with amazing image colour and quality, high speeds, 4-colour standard or high-capacity ink cartridge system, and versatile paper handling capabilities.

SG 7100DN’s 4-colour printing utilises individual standard (around 29 ml for CMY and 42ml for K) or high-capacity (approx. 60ml for CMY and 68ml for K) SubliJet-R sublimation gel ink cartridges.

Presto Tape releases PaperTac adhesive-backed wallpapers

Presto Tape recently unpacked PaperTac adhesive-backed papers which augment the company’s wallcovering collection. PaperTac is available in three versions to meet market expectations and applications. PaperTac #329 is a 6mil paper which can be printed with UV cure and Latex inks, PaperTac #330 is a 7mil paper which can be printed with UV cure, Latex, solvent and eco-solvent inks and PaperTac Heavy #350 is a 10mil paper with a heavier feel and can be printed with UV cure and Latex inks. PaperTac is ideal for surface graphics, wall murals, or in place of traditional wallpaper.
