Witness world’s largest tower wrap

One big thing that turns everyone to see in Bucks County, Pennsylvania is neither any serene landscape nor monument. It’s just a giant billboard wrapped around a two billion gallon water tower of Sesame Place.

The gargantuan vertical water tower of Sesame Place is wrapped in bright colour graphics and photos of Elmo, Big Bird and happy children for an ad of Aquafina. Seen attractively from far off spots around the popular family theme park in the nearby Langhorne, the gigantic wrap is 145 feet tall and 160 feet around. Considered to be the largest ever tower wrap in the world, AD Print LLC is the company behind the installation of the giant graphics.

Whole lot of the wrap was printed on LD823TG, which is a high-performance, seven years re-positionable cast vinyl from LG Hausys. Then the entire job was given added durability and UV protection using LG Hausys’ LP 80990G cast laminate, a 2.3 mil high gloss film.

McLaughlin, CEO of Great Big Color, Denver who is long time production partner of AD Print LLC asserted that vendors were invited to submit materials for consideration on what would be a high profile project. “We did a lot of extensive testing, wrapped a trailer and spent some time analysing the results to make sure we were using the best material,” he mentioned adding that the LG vinyl was found to be very low tack for the first few minutes, and could be easily re-positioned. But then it bonded really well – exactly what a job like this requires.
