Buzzing show floor witnessed at Media Expo New Delhi 2019 with new industry records

New Delhi edition of Media Expo 2019 performed exceedingly well with an overall growth as it witnessed 13 percent increase in the number of exhibitors, 15 percent rise in footfalls of trade visitors and 14 percent show floor expansion. The expo held from 6 – 8 September 2019 at Paragti Maidan in New Delhi also proved to be the pioneer in showcasing innovative products and technologies with growing trends and segments in the industry.

 Paving the way for emerging trends to enter and flourish into the Indian signage market, Media Expo New Delhi 2019 had indisputably become the industry’s top choice to network and source innovative advertising applications. The expo had 220 exhibitors, a 13 percent increase against the previous edition. With a count of 17,711 trade visitors crowding the aisles, the expo witnessed 15 percent surge in the total number of trade visitors, compared to the last edition.

The 45th edition of Media Expo in New Delhi not only witnessed a rise in quantity but also in quality as this edition saw a paradigm shift in the technological applications displayed at the show. Growing segments of the industry like 3D printing, digital signings, and environmental-friendly alternatives for printing materials and POPs were the talk of the show. Visitors were pleased to check out live demos of innovative products such as 3D printers, water-resistant LED lights, movable digital signage and 3D holographic fans.

Main Attractions

Apsom Infotex, representing Roland DG, introduced the Texcart RT 640 dye-sub multifunctional printer. Highlighting the advancement of the new dye-sub printer, Deborshi Paul Choudhary, Business Head, Apsom Infotex, said that the printer is designed for another step to strengthen the company’s extension of its product line into the burgeoning textile printing market that covers sportswear, fashion, interior décor and soft signage applications. Arrow Digital created a new paradigm shift in 3D printing of the Indian market, presenting Massivit. Demonstrated live at the company’s stall was a Massivit 1500. Sam Patel, Managing Director & CEO, Arrow Digital, said the visitors got excited seeing the massive 3D printer. “Our aim is to create a market for 3D printing in India and we are happy to get serious enquiries on the Massivit 1500 on display,” he shared.

Highly versatile Acuity Select and Acuity LED 3200R at FUJIFILM’s stall pulled crowd. Pradipta Choudhury, Senior Product Manager –WFU, Graphic Arts Division, FUJIFILM India Private Limited, said the UV inkjet flatbed printers are the ultimate platforms for printing on rigid and flexible media, delivering near-photographic quality graphics across a diverse range of signage applications. NEGI Sign Systems & Supplies Co showcased its line of solvent, eco-solvent, UV-LED, sublimation and textile printers. Unpacked new at the expo was the Mutoh XpertJet Series, powered by ONYX RIP Software. Girvir Singh Negi, Managing Director, NEGI Sign Systems & Supplies Co, said the expo is the right platform for introduction of new products. The company also presented Brother DTG printers, PZO and Nazdar inks.

New from Pioneers at the expo was Smartlit substrate, which is compatible with UV, eco-solvent and latex printing technologies. Jitu Mishra, ASM, Pioneer Polyleathers Pvt Ltd, said the newly launched substrate is a common product designed for all sorts of printing. Axis Enterprises showcased its line of flagship UV flatbed printers, such as Flashjet 4720 and Acejet 600 V. “Flashjet printer we present here is three times faster than any other printer in its class. In the meanwhile, Acejet is designed for colour + white varnish,” said Sanjeev Budhiraja, MD, Axis Enterprise. He added that they have initiated a new move towards saving trees and environment as no printed papers were used at the stall of Axis Enterprises. Instead, all brochures/catalogues of the machines on display were available in e-formats only downloadable through QR codes.

Celebrating 11 Years of Delivering Services in the industry, Neenjas presented its trusted range of LED modules and SMPS with 5 years warranty. Vineet Gupta, Managing Director, Neenjas Technologies Pvt Ltd, mentioned that the expo pulls a good number of potential trade visitors. Trinity Inks showcased its ever popular SK4 fragrance inks, suitable for SPT printheads, and other popular products including Trinity sublimation, UV, eco-solvent and universal inks. Amar Patel, Managing Director, Trinity Inks, stated that the range of ‘Made in India’ Trinity Inks is of export grade.

JN Arora Group demonstrated a whole gamut of its products which included HandTop printers, Graphtech plotters, Avery Dennison materials, NAR adhesive vinyl and heat transfer vinyl from the Italian company Siser. Aashish Arora of JN Arora Group mentioned that the group’s showcase is meant for providing premium range of machines and materials that meet the need of any signage company. SMK Digital announced its collaboration with SKYTEK, a leading supplier of UV printers. “With this partnership, we will distribute SKYTEK machines in the western and eastern regions, while they (SKYTEK) will take care of south and north,” mentioned Mukesh Patel of SMK Digital.

AT Inks, the brand sold by Rex-Tone Industries, pulled crowd. The company demonstrated the whole gamut of its grades comprising solvent inks, eco-solvent inks, ceramic inks, UV curable inks, LED curable inks and water-based inks. Neerav Goswamy, Director of AT Inks, mentioned that their inks are produced with in-depth knowledge and experience in both impact and non-impact printing on diverse media. The company’s stand sported a graphical chronology of its 50 years experience in various areas of colour technology.

Caldron Graphics showcased a gamut of versatile products designed for all levels of graphic printing and production. The range included the company’s high-quality RTR K8 500 UV printer, CJ Series printers as well as CJF Series fiber laser machines. Also on display at the company’s stand consisted of HP Latex, DesignJet and PageWide Series printers. Rajat Mitra, Director, Caldron Graphics, said Media Expo is always turned out to be a perfect networking place for them. JX Enterprises, a leading distributor of Gongzheng printers, demonstrated a line of printers, among which 3206 SG was a key product.

Mehta Cad Cam Systems demonstrated its game-changing products which consist of the ‘Made in India’ Mehta CNC routers and laser engravers as well as Gongzheng and Rasterjet Series UV flatbed printers. Among the key highlights were 3.2m Gongzheng GZC 320B with GMA33 5 pl printhead and Mehta Gloria EX 1539 laser cutting machine. Also, on display at the company’s stand was a line of Acuutek channel letter bending machines. Shailesh Mehta, Director, Mehta Cad Cam Systems Pvt Ltd, said the portfolio they showcase at the expo offers ideal choices for those looking for machines of any levels.

Colorjet India showcased a combo of ‘green’ printing solutions. Key showcase from the company included its ever popular Irisjet PRO and others. Smarth Bansal, DGM – Product Management, Colorjet India Ltd said that they announced an offer during the expo in which PSPs can exchange their old printers worth Rs 2 lakhs. On other side, Color Digital India (CDI) demonstrated its product range that included the competitively priced eco-solvent printers, viz. SuperJet, MegaJet and PowerJet that featured 512/512i/1024i printheads. Tejinder Singh, Director, CDI, said the crowds that thronged to the company’s stand were for the spare parts they offer.

Introduced new from Kheizer Sign was a new flatbed cut letter making machine. Riyaz Siddiqui mentioned that the machine is a game-changing system for cut-letter signage. The company also demonstrated its existing products including Yongli CO2 laser tube. On other side, RTR Incorporation showcased the prowess of Keundo range of printers and applications. “A key product in the rage of Keundo machines we showcase here in this expo is the M3200 UV roll-to-roll printer. This printer is an unprecedented breakthrough in the traditional large-format printing techniques,” commented Rajnish Nigam of RTR Incorporation.

Aditya, supplier of Sunfix sign and display vinyl range, also showcased the premium inks from its Israeli partner Ink Vision. “The Indian market is quite vibrant and growing in new momentum. It’s our privilege to be partnered with Aditya, a prolific player,” remarked Silvio Edelcopp of Ink Vision. Main attraction at the stand of City Advertising was its N-City curing and solidification machine. Nitin Srivastav, Director, City Advertising, said innovations in liquid acrylic LED signage systems are limitless.

Signarium showcased a range of aluminum profiles for signage and art. Rishil Sheth from Signarium mentioned that the key products from the company at the expo included 25 mm profile for non-lit and backlit frames and clip-on for hoardings. Finishing adhesive solution provider, Benson Polymers, offered its Polyfix instant glue, which is cyanoacrylate adhesive that can fix anything as fastest as three seconds. Likewise, Ajit Industries presented a set of premium range of adhesive tapes designed robustly for finishing. Ruhit Arya, Deputy Manager (Sales), Ajit Industries Pvt Ltd, mentioned that AIPL tapes are pressure sensitive self-adhesive industrial tapes suitable for finishing signage and display applications.

ADS LED, which imports premium range of LED modules and SMPS from Korea, Taiwan and China, introduced new 7 years guaranteed LED modules, which are elegant and economical. EPSON demonstrated the versatile SureColor SC P-20070 printer, which is a next generation system for high performance, speed production printer. It’s equipped with PrecisionCoreM MicroTFP printhead and UltraChrome PRO ink.

Green Media Range

With ample of awareness in the industry, exhibitors were not only working towards meeting market demands, but also creating applications and tools that will fit environmental needs and regulatory norms set by the government. Key highlight from Cosign India was the newly launched COTEX textile range, which are recyclable materials for multiple applications. The printable fabric range is available in Back-lit, 100 percent Blockout, Canvas and Display textiles. Tejasa Purandare, Director, Cosign India Pvt Ltd, said the COTEX range is designed for premium look in indoor graphics.

Among the exhibitors showing green media range, Sun Sign & Technologies attracted crowd with the showcase SENFA and Sunstar Premium Backlit Fabrics. Deepak Gupta, Director, Sun Sign & Technologies, mentioned PVC-free SENFA Textile-250 is one of the key highlights at their stall. Soyang from China, first timer at the expo, is manufacturer of technical textiles for printing and industrial applications. “We are exploring the Indian market, looking for some partners who can represent us in the country,” said Lebron from Soyang.

Laxmi Sales Corporation, distributor of recyclable Yupo papers, showcased the range which is attributed to deliver high-textured graphics. “Apart from Yupo, we are 3M converter and distributor of LT (Lighting Technologies) products,” informed Ramakant Mandhana, Director, Laxmi Sales Corporation. TechNova presented a range of NovaJet premium inkjet backlit PET signage media. Deepak Chawla of TechNova said the range is tested, trusted and acknowledged by their customers working for corporate projects.

Karni Alufab, another supplier of textile media, showcased a range of premium materials. Deepak Patel of Karni Alufab said the expo provides a right platform to interact with customers. Among the key products showcased by Gita & Co included frontlit and backlit fabric range as well as Sunboard Series. Vishal Doshi of Gita & Co appreciated the good footfall of the expo. Sun Printable Fabric presented fabric-based, eco-friendly, digitally printable media range. Key product highlighted by the company was UV printable BL-200 backlit Sun Fabric media. Deepak Girotra, Director, Sun Printable Fabric Pvt Ltd said their products are compatible with all printing technologies.

Fabric printing media manufacturer Sunlex Fabrics demonstrated its range of groundbreaking products. “We aim at providing best and sustainable eco-friendly fabric media. Our footprint is also expanding globally by participating in international expos,” informed Syed Anwar, National Business Head, Sunlex Fabrics Pvt Ltd. Arvind rolled out its newly introduced Cotton backlit fabric at the expo.

Crowd Pullers

Among the host of crowd pullers at the expo was Mimaki that showcased a line of its widely acclaimed UV printers, such as JV 300 Series, UJF 3042 MK-II and others. Megasign demonstrated its range of Sapphire, Topaz and Rubi inks, manufactured by Navratan Specialty Chemicals, attracting huge crowd during the expo. Bhavesh Patel, Country Manager Ink, Megasign, informed that the Megasign inks are compatibly made for all printing technologies.

Monotech Systems showcased its range of widely popular printers including the Pixeljet 3.2×1.8m hybrid flatbed & roll-to-roll printer, 3.2m Power Pro (with RICOH Gen-5 printhead), Rapid Series (with KM 512i printhead) as well as Bigrep 3D printer. “3D printing is gaining a new ground in the signage market. Bigrep is new paradigm shift in the development as it is entry-level system, affordable and highly efficient,” mentioned Akash Kumar, Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications, Monotech Systems.

HP showcased the prowess and unlimited capability of its Stitch textile printers. The company demonstrated how the printer designed for the sustainable printing market. In this respect, Santosh Nair, Country Lead and Category Manager – India, HP Pvt Ltd said the industry will have to re-invent with sustainable applications in the next three years. One of the key products that pulled crowd at Kartar Corporation’s stand was the IPS channel letter bending machine. Charanjit Singh from Kartar Corporation said that the IPS machines are perfect in precision and production process. The company also showcased its highly flexible TigerTec CNC router in a separate stand. Arihant demonstrated a string of products comprising Samsung LEDs, Rishang LEDs, Union SMPS, CZCL SMPS, Arespower SMPS, among others. “We offer Union SMPS (3 years warranty), CZCL SMPS (2 years warranty) and Arespower SMPS (1 year warranty),” mentioned Ashish Jain from Arihant Uniglobe Pvt Ltd. Silver Sign showcased its Hisign products, which consisted of LED modules—Interone, Backlit Bars and Flexura 103 as well as highly efficient power supplies.

Crowd-pulling product at the stand of Angel India Cad Cam was its versatile CNC wood router. At the expo, JB Art Studio announced the introduction of a new Acu-Bend Freedom channel bending machine. “We announce the India debut of the machine at this expo. It was launched globally at the recent ISA Expo in Las Vegas, informed Gulshan Ahuja. Cleena Industry showcased a range of printable media and foam-boards. Avnish Gautam, Vice President of Cleena Industry, said they manufacture export quality materials at their Roorkee plant. Nilkamal Limited pulled crowd with the showcase of its Bubble Guard foldable acrylic boards. “These boards are 100 percent recyclable and water-proof,” mentioned Pavan Kumar Pal of Nilkamal Limited.

True Colors pulled crowds during the expo, showcasing a range of its highly demanded i-Jet solvent printers. Likewise, Infinity Digital showcased the crowd-pulling Docan printers at its stand. Goldtech Graphics introduced a new 8×4 ft UV flatbed at the expo. Narayan Gupta, Marketing Director, Goldtech Graphics Pvt Ltd, said they received good response to the newly released GT UV printer. Kandy Digital, newly ventured company in the block, pulled crowd with the demonstration of its flagship UV flatbed printer. Vijay Kandri of Kandy Digital said they are now fully gearing up for expanding product portfolio and exploring new segments.

B&R Digitals showcased a line of premium XLJet lamination machines. “Our range consists of both cold and hot lamination machines. We are happy to find a horde of focused trade visitors at the expo,” said Rajeev Bhaskaran of B&R Digitals. Presented in a combo of InnTan fabric, vinyl, lamination film, backlit film, canvas, etc, Taneja Digital Solutions was also a crowd puller at the expo. Southern Agencies demonstrated its BNZ line of LED products which include strips and modules. Aman Agarwal, Director, Southern Agencies, said the products are economical and designed in accordance to the need of Indian customers. Acrylic House gathered crowd at its stand showing a complete range of signage raw materials. Vikas K Gupta of Acrylic House mentioned their product line comprising sheets and display items such as PVC foam sheets, laser engraving sheets as well as clip-on, aluminium profiles. The next edition of the show, Media Expo 2020, will be organised from February 20-22 at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai.
