Siddipet Print Hub invests in Pixeljet to outsmart competition

Nine print service providers (PSPs) in Siddipet, Telangana, merged to form Siddipet Print Hub. This move was mainly done to curb the growing competition in the digital large-format printing market. The competition in the digital large-format printing market has been continuously growing which in turn is resulting in a severe drop in prices. In what is being claimed to be a first, the merger of nine companies brought together the competitors in Siddipet to standardise flex printing prices in the area. This leaves the town with a single print service provider.

G Sriniwas was named as the Managing Director of the company and he is one of the nine partners of the companies. The other partners include B Sunthosh, R Ajay, B Srinivas, B Nagaraju, Baber Pasha, Sarath, Ch Pratap and A Ajay Kumar.

The new company was inaugurated on October 12, 2020, and was attended by Tanneru Harish Rao Garu, Finance Minister of Telangana. Several other government officials including the chairmen of Zilla Parishad of Siddipet, Siddipet Municipal Council, Siddipet Urban Development Authority, Siddipet Agriculture Marketing Committee and Members of Parliament of Medak and Legislative Council of Siddipet and the 7th Ward Councilor were also present at the event. The property for the new headquarter was provided by the state government.

G Srinivassaid that the flex printing market suffered heavy damage due to the pandemic. “With little to no business in the market, Siddipet Print Hub decided to diversify in the industrial rigid printing segment with the new installation from Monotech Systems,” he remarked.

The Pijexljet hybrid printer is designed for short-run to high-level production of multiple jobs and it can handle several sizes media of up to 100 mm in thickness. The printer runs at the speed of 450 sq ft/hr and is equipped with Rioch Gen 5 printhead. The applications of the machine include banners, posters, signage, exhibition graphics, POP & POS, mock-ups, backlit, frontlit and self-adhesives (labels).

“With the new investment, we are looking to target industrial rigid applications such as wood and metal printing,” mentioned G Srinivas, adding that they pick Monotech Systems for its prompt customer service. He concluded by saying that the signage industry is going through a rough patch given the slowing corporate marketing budgets, it might take a considerable time for the industry to be back on track.

Monotech Systems installs Pixeljet UV hybrid printer at Fine Digitals

Yet another landmark installation of Pixeljet Series printer from Monotech Systems in Hyderabad, Fine Digitals has invested in Pixeljet 2512 RMO LED UV hybrid printer. With this new investment the company aims to provide high-value applications in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh such as fabric printing.

Established in 2005, Fine Digitalshas a combination of B2B and B2C clients which includes big brands such as Samsung, Sony, Tata, LG, Panasonic, Dell and Lenovo. “We chose the Pixeljet UV hybrid printer after seeing the demo of the machine at a nearby print facility, KGN Xerox, where it was installed a few months ago,” says Yusuf, Proprietor of Fine Digitals.

Designed for short-run to high-level production of multiple jobs, Pixeljet 2512 RMO LED UV hybrid printercan handle up to 100 mm thick media. Capable to run at the speed of 450 sqft/hour, it is equipped with Ricoh Gen 5 printhead and ideal for production of print applications including banners, posters, exhibition graphics, POP & POS, mock-ups, self-adhesives (labels), among others.

“In the cut throat competition in the flex printing market of Hyderabad, this new machine will help us target fabric printing applications,” said Yusuf. Fine Digitals is now focusing on fabric light-box printing. Yusuf mentioned that the popularity of fabric light-box is increasing among their corporate clients owing to its high visibility and better quality than flex graphics. While providing quality work is the priority for Yusuf, he explained that fabric products have a higher margin than flex printing—another reason for targeting the fabric printing segment.

“Fabric light-box is eco-friendly, attractive and easily reusable. We are getting numerous inquiries for the product,” he emphasised, adding that providing new services is crucial for the growth of a business.

Fine Digital trusts in Indian manufacturers like Monotech Systems because of the smooth service and technical support. Yusuf informed that they already had a Chinese printer but they suffered a lot due to the lack of proper technical assistance and support from the manufacturer. The current restrictions and tensions between India and China and the Vocal for Local/Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign launched by the PM Narendra Modi has seen Indian print businesses turn to indigenous suppliers for their requirements.

In terms of the market circumstances, Yusuf said that the signage business is all about demand. He saw a good demand before Dussehra, but it started to decline after the festive season. He is positive about the growth of the signage industry and hopes that once the COVID-19 vaccine becomes available everything will eventually be normal.
